Man, what a day! I swear, being a librarian in Massa-Lombarda is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m walking down Via Roma, and I trip over a cobblestone. Classic me. I’m like, “Great start, genius.” But whatever, I brush it off. I get to the library, and it’s packed. I mean, PACKED. Kids everywhere, running around like they’re on a sugar high. I love ‘em, but c’mon! Can’t a librarian get a moment of peace? So, I’m trying to help this kid find a book. He’s all like, “I want the one with the dragon!” I’m thinking, “Dude, that’s like half the library.” I finally find it, and he’s like, “Nah, I wanted the one with the unicorn.” Ugh! I’m losing my mind here. Then, outta nowhere, my coworker, Maria, bursts in. She’s all flustered, talking about some festival happening on Piazza Matteotti. Apparently, they’re having a gelato contest. I’m like, “Why didn’t you tell me sooner?!” I mean, gelato? Count me in! But first, I gotta deal with these kids. After what feels like an eternity, I finally get a break. I dash over to the piazza, and it’s a scene! People everywhere, music blasting, and the smell of gelato wafting through the air. I’m practically drooling. I grab a cone of stracciatella, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. But then, I see this guy, right? He’s juggling gelato cones. I’m thinking, “Dude, you’re gonna drop one!” And guess what? He does! Right on the ground. Everyone gasps, and I can’t help but laugh. It’s like a slow-motion movie. Then, I hear this commotion. Turns out, there’s a dog running around, stealing gelato from people. I’m dying! This little pup is living its best life. I mean, who wouldn’t want free gelato? I’m half tempted to join him. But then, my phone buzzes. It’s the library. Apparently, there’s a leak in the ceiling. Great. Just what I needed. I rush back, and sure enough, there’s water dripping everywhere. I’m like, “Seriously? Can’t a librarian catch a break?” I grab buckets, towels, whatever I can find. I’m soaked, and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna catch a cold. But hey, at least I’m not juggling gelato, right? Finally, after what feels like a lifetime, the leak is under control. I’m exhausted, but I can’t help but smile. I mean, this is Massa-Lombarda, right? It’s quirky, it’s chaotic, and it’s home. As I’m leaving, I walk down Via Garibaldi, and the sunset is just beautiful. I stop for a second, take a deep breath, and think, “Yeah, today was wild.” I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, that’s my day. A mix of chaos, laughter, and a little bit of gelato. Just another day in Massa-Lombarda, where the unexpected is the norm, and every moment is an adventure.
