Man, what a day! I swear, Melissano really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m heading down Via Roma, and I’m already late for my meeting. Classic me. I’m dodging people like I’m in some kinda video game. Old ladies with their shopping carts, kids on bikes, you name it. I almost tripped over a cat. Like, seriously, who lets their cat roam the streets? Anyway, I finally get to the research center on Via Garibaldi. I’m all pumped to present my findings on that new drug trial. But guess what? The projector’s broken. Ugh! I’m standing there, trying to explain stuff with my hands like I’m some kind of mime. “Look, this is the data! And this is my frustration!” Then, outta nowhere, my boss, Dr. Rossi, walks in. He’s got that serious face on, you know? Like he just swallowed a lemon. He’s like, “Where’s the presentation?” And I’m like, “Uh, it’s in my head?” Not my best moment. But hey, I managed to wing it. I mean, who doesn’t love a good improv session, right? After that chaos, I needed a break. So, I hit up my fave café on Via Vittorio Emanuele. They’ve got the best cappuccino. I order one, and the barista, Marco, is like, “You look like you need a double shot.” I’m like, “You have no idea, man.” Sippin’ my coffee, I start people-watching. There’s this couple arguing over gelato flavors. Like, c’mon, it’s gelato! Just pick one! But then, they start laughing, and I’m like, “Aww, love is sweet, even if gelato isn’t.” But then, BAM! My phone buzzes. It’s my colleague, Sara. She’s freaking out about some data mix-up. I’m like, “Not again!” I rush back to the office, dodging tourists taking selfies in front of the church on Piazza della Libertà. Seriously, people, it’s just a church! When I get back, the office is a mess. Papers everywhere, and Sara’s on the verge of tears. I’m like, “Breathe, girl! We got this!” We pull an all-nighter, fueled by way too much coffee and some questionable snacks from the vending machine. I swear, I’ve never seen so many empty bags of chips in one place. Finally, we sort it out. I’m exhausted but relieved. We high-five like we just won the World Cup. Then, I step outside, and it’s dark. The streets of Melissano are lit up, and it’s kinda beautiful. I stroll down Via Roma again, feeling like I conquered the day. But wait! I hear music. There’s a street performer playing the accordion. I stop, and it’s like the world fades away. I’m swaying a bit, feeling the vibe. Melissano, you sneaky little city, you know how to lift my spirits. As I head home, I can’t help but laugh at the day. It was a rollercoaster, for sure. Melissano, you’re wild, but I wouldn’t trade you for anything. Just another day in the life of a Clinical Research Specialist, right?
