Man, what a day! I swear, being a stockbroker in Mercogliano is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I grab my espresso at Bar Centrale on Via Roma. Best coffee in town, no contest. I’m talking liquid gold, people! But then, I spill it all over my shirt. Great start, huh? I’m standing there, looking like a caffeinated Picasso. So, I rush to the office on Via San Giovanni. Traffic’s a nightmare. I mean, come on! It’s Mercogliano, not Milan! I’m stuck behind some old dude in a Fiat who’s going 20 in a 50 zone. I’m yelling at my steering wheel like it’s gonna magically make him speed up. “C’mon, Nonno! I got stocks to trade!” Finally, I get to the office, and it’s chaos. My phone’s blowing up. Stocks are crashing, and I’m like, “What the heck is happening?” Turns out, some big company in Naples just announced layoffs. Panic mode activated! I’m running around like a headless chicken, trying to calm clients down. “No, no, don’t sell! It’s just a dip!” But they’re all like, “I’m losing money!” Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Marco bursts in. He’s got this wild look in his eyes. “Dude, you won’t believe it! I just bought a villa in Avellino!” I’m like, “What? You’re kidding, right?” But he’s dead serious. I’m happy for him, but also, like, “How’d you pull that off?” He just shrugs and says, “I sold my crypto.” Crypto! Don’t even get me started. I had some, but sold it all last month. Now it’s skyrocketing. I’m sitting there, fuming. “Why didn’t I hold on?” I could’ve been sipping limoncello on a beach instead of sweating in this office. Around noon, I decide to take a breather. I stroll down to Parco del Mercatello. It’s beautiful, man. The trees, the flowers, the whole vibe. I sit on a bench, trying to clear my head. But then, I see this kid flying a kite. And I’m like, “Why can’t my life be that simple?” Just a kid, a kite, and no stock market drama. But then, I get a call. It’s my boss. “We need to talk about your performance.” Oh great, just what I need. I’m thinking, “Dude, I’m doing my best here!” But I keep it cool. “Sure, let’s chat.” Back at the office, he’s all serious. “You need to be more proactive.” I’m like, “Proactive? I’m practically a stock ninja!” But I nod and smile. Inside, I’m screaming. Finally, the day winds down. I’m exhausted. I head to my favorite pizzeria, Da Michele, on Via Nazionale. Best pizza in Mercogliano, hands down. I order a Margherita and just chill. The cheese, the sauce, it’s heavenly. I’m finally feeling good again. As I’m leaving, I bump into an old friend from high school. We chat about life, stocks, and how Mercogliano’s changed. “Remember when we used to hang out at the old fountain?” he asks. Yeah, those were the days. So, I get home, plop on the couch, and think about the day. It was a rollercoaster, for sure. But hey, that’s life in Mercogliano. Full of surprises, ups and downs, and a whole lotta coffee spills. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
