Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a lifeguard in Misterbianco is like riding a rollercoaster. One minute you’re chillin’, the next you’re dodging drama like it’s a game of dodgeball. So, let’s rewind to this morning. I roll up to the beach at Spiaggia di Misterbianco, sun’s shining, vibes are good. I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be a breeze.” But nah, life had other plans. First off, I spot this kid, like, 10 years old, runnin’ around like a maniac on Via Roma. He’s got a beach ball, and I’m like, “Dude, chill! You’re gonna take someone out!” Then, outta nowhere, this lady starts yellin’. Turns out, her dog, a tiny fluffball, decided to take a dip. I mean, c’mon, it’s a beach, not a doggy spa! I’m tryin’ to keep my cool, but inside I’m like, “Lady, control your pooch!” Fast forward a bit, and I’m sittin’ on my lifeguard chair, sippin’ on some water, when I see this group of teens on the rocks by Via Garibaldi. They’re takin’ selfies, and I’m thinkin’, “Great, just what we need—more distractions.” But then, one of ‘em slips! I’m like, “Oh snap!” I jump up, ready to dive in, but he catches himself. Phew! But then, the real chaos hits. A storm rolls in outta nowhere. I mean, one minute it’s sunny, the next it’s like someone flipped a switch. The waves start crashin’, and I’m like, “This is NOT what I signed up for!” I’m blowin’ my whistle, shoutin’ at people to get outta the water. And guess what? Some dude on a jet ski thinks he’s invincible. He zooms past me, and I’m like, “Bro, you’re gonna get yourself killed!” But he just laughs and keeps goin’. Ugh, some people just don’t get it. So, I’m runnin’ up and down the beach, tryin’ to herd everyone like cats. I’m soaked, my hair’s a mess, and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna lose my voice from yellin’. But then, I see this little girl, maybe 5 years old, crying because she lost her floatie. My heart just melts. I mean, c’mon, who can resist a sad kid? I dive into the water, lookin’ for that floatie. I’m swimmin’ around, and it’s like a treasure hunt. Finally, I spot it! I grab it and swim back, and the look on her face? Priceless! She’s all smiles, and I’m like, “See? Lifeguard to the rescue!” After the storm passes, the sun comes back out, and it’s like a whole new world. People are back in the water, laughin’, and I’m just sittin’ there, feelin’ like a hero. But then, I see that same jet ski dude again. He’s back, and this time he’s tryin’ to impress some girls. I roll my eyes. As the day winds down, I’m sittin’ on the beach, watchin’ the sunset over the Ionian Sea. It’s beautiful, ya know? Makes all the craziness worth it. I think about Misterbianco, the streets, the people, the beach. It’s my home, and even on the wildest days, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but hey, that’s life, right? Just another day in Misterbianco, where the sun shines, the waves crash, and the lifeguard’s always on duty.
