Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a stove-maker in Monfalcone ain’t for the faint-hearted. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Via Roma. I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I head to the workshop. It’s on Via della Libertà, and lemme tell ya, that street is always a mess. Cars everywhere, people honkin’ like they’re in a race. I’m dodgin’ scooters like I’m in some kinda video game. I finally get to my shop, and guess what? The furnace is acting up. Great. Just what I needed. I’m tryin’ to fix it, but it’s like it has a mind of its own. I’m sweatin’ bullets, cursing under my breath. “C’mon, you old hunk of metal!” I’m practically begging it. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Marco strolls in. He’s got that goofy grin, and I’m like, “Dude, not now!” But he’s all hyped about some festival in the piazza. I’m like, “Yeah, yeah, but my furnace is about to blow!” So, I finally get the furnace to cooperate. I’m feelin’ like a hero, right? But then, I step outside for a breather. And what do I see? A parade! Right down Corso del Popolo. I mean, who doesn’t love a parade? But it’s packed! I can’t even see the floats. Just a sea of heads. I’m like, “Great, now I’m stuck here.” But then, I spot this little kid with a balloon. He’s tryin’ to reach for it, and I’m like, “Aww, that’s cute.” But then, BAM! The balloon pops! Kid starts wailin’ like it’s the end of the world. I’m feelin’ for him, but also laughin’ a bit. Kids, man. They’re dramatic. After the parade, I head back to the shop. I’m thinkin’ I can finally get some work done. But nope! My neighbor, Signora Rossi, decides it’s the perfect time to have a chat. She’s talkin’ my ear off about her cat, Gino. I’m nodding, but inside I’m like, “Lady, I got stoves to make!” Finally, she leaves, and I can focus. I’m hammerin’ away, gettin’ into the groove. Then, I hear this loud crash outside. I rush out, and there’s a guy on a bike, totally wiped out. He’s okay, but his bike? Not so much. I’m tryin’ to help him up, and he’s like, “Nah, I’m good.” But I’m thinkin’, “Dude, you just ate pavement!” By the time I get back to work, it’s late. I’m exhausted but kinda pumped. I made some sick stoves today. I’m thinkin’ about how Monfalcone’s got this vibe, ya know? The sea’s right there, the shipyards, the people. It’s chaotic but beautiful. As I’m packin’ up, I hear the church bells from Chiesa di San Giovanni. It’s like a reminder that life’s a mix of chaos and calm. I step outside, take a deep breath, and just smile. Monfalcone, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but wouldn’t trade it for anything. Just another day in the life of a stove-maker, livin’ it up in Monfalcone!
