Man, what a day! I swear, Montecatini-Terme really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I’m a Mourner, right? Yeah, sounds heavy, but today was just... wow. I woke up in my little flat on Via Roma. The sun was shining, birds chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. I had a funeral to attend, but first, I needed my caffeine fix. Hit up this cute café on Viale Giuseppe Verdi. Best cappuccino ever! Like, seriously, I could swim in it. So, I’m sipping my coffee, and I see this old dude, right? He’s just sitting there, staring at his pastry like it owes him money. I chuckle a bit. Then, boom! He drops it. I mean, come on! It’s like a scene from a movie. I almost felt bad for the guy. Almost. Anyway, I head to the funeral. It’s at this old church on Piazza del Popolo. Beautiful place, but man, the vibe was heavy. I’m talking thick air, like you could cut it with a knife. I’m trying to keep it together, but then I see this lady in the front row. She’s sobbing like she just lost her best friend. Oh wait, she did. Ugh, feels. So, I’m standing there, trying to be all respectful, but my mind starts wandering. Like, why do they always play that sad music? Can’t we get some upbeat tunes? I mean, it’s a celebration of life, right? After the service, I’m walking down Via delle Terme, and I’m just... lost in thought. Then, outta nowhere, this kid on a bike zooms past me. Almost knocks me over! I’m like, “Hey, watch it, mini speed racer!” He just laughs and keeps going. Kids these days, man. Then I hit up the thermal baths. You know, the famous ones? They’re supposed to be relaxing, but I’m just stressed. I’m in the water, and it’s like, “Ahh, this is nice.” But then I overhear this couple arguing. Like, can’t you see we’re all trying to chill here? I finally get out, and I’m feeling a bit better. I stroll down to the park, Parco delle Terme. It’s gorgeous! Flowers everywhere, people laughing, kids playing. I sit on a bench, just soaking it all in. But then, I see this guy feeding pigeons. And I’m like, “Dude, those birds are gonna mob you!” And guess what? They do! Hilarious! But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy. He’s like, “Hey, wanna grab a drink?” I’m like, “Sure, why not?” So we hit up this bar on Corso Giacomo Matteotti. The vibe is lit! We’re laughing, sharing stories, and I forget about the day’s heaviness. But then, outta nowhere, my buddy spills his drink all over me. I’m soaked! I’m like, “Dude, what’s your deal?” He just laughs it off. I mean, come on! As the night goes on, I’m feeling all sorts of emotions. Happy, angry, surprised. It’s like Montecatini-Terme is a rollercoaster. I’m just trying to keep my head above water. Finally, I head home, and I’m thinking about the day. It was wild, emotional, and just... life, you know? Montecatini-Terme, you crazy! But I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Just another day in the life of a Mourner in this beautiful, chaotic city. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
