Man, what a day! I woke up in Montella, and let me tell ya, it was a wild ride. First off, Montella is this cute little town in the Avellino province, right? Nestled in the hills, surrounded by vineyards and all that. I mean, who wouldn’t wanna wake up to that view? But today? Ugh, today was a whole different story. So, I’m rollin’ outta bed, and I’m already late. I grab my coffee, spill half of it on my shirt. Great start, right? I hop on my bike, zoom down Via Roma, dodging potholes like I’m in some kinda video game. Montella’s streets are narrow, man. You gotta be quick or you’ll end up in a ditch. I get to the field, and guess what? My combine harvester won’t start! Like, seriously? I’m standing there, cursing like a sailor. I mean, I love my job, but when that machine decides to throw a tantrum, it’s like dealing with a toddler. I’m sweating bullets, thinking about all the crops I gotta harvest. Finally, after what feels like an eternity, I get it going. Thank you, sweet baby Jesus! I’m out there, cutting through the fields, and it’s beautiful. The sun’s shining, the smell of fresh hay in the air. I’m jamming to my tunes, feeling like a rockstar. But then, bam! A flock of birds swoops down, and I’m like, “What the heck?!” They’re everywhere! I’m swerving, trying not to hit ‘em. After that chaos, I take a break. I’m chillin’ by the old church on Piazza Municipio. It’s this stunning place, man. The architecture is just wow. I sit there, sipping on some water, and I see this old dude feeding pigeons. He’s got a whole crowd around him. I’m thinking, “Dude, you’re the pigeon whisperer!” But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, trips, and spills his gelato all over the old guy. I’m dying laughing! The kid’s face is priceless. The old dude just looks at him, then at the pigeons, and shrugs. Classic Montella moment, right? So, I get back to work, and I’m feeling good. But then, I hit a rock. A big one. My combine’s like, “Nah, not today!” It stalls again. I’m ready to lose it. I’m yelling at the machine like it can hear me. “C’mon, you piece of junk!” Finally, I get it moving again, but I’m fuming. I’m thinking about how I could’ve been enjoying a nice glass of Aglianico wine instead of wrestling with this beast. Montella’s got some of the best wine, man. I could’ve been sipping and chillin’ instead of sweating like a pig. As the sun starts to set, I’m wrapping up for the day. I drive back through the streets, and they’re all lit up. Montella looks magical at night. I pass by the gelato shop on Via San Giovanni, and I can’t resist. I grab a cone, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. I finally get home, exhausted but happy. I plop down on the couch, thinking about the day. It was a rollercoaster, for sure. Montella, you crazy little town, you never fail to surprise me. I love it here, even when it drives me nuts. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
