Man, what a day! Seriously, Montenero-di-Bisaccia, you’ve got me all kinds of twisted. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up Via Roma for some coffee. You know, the good stuff. I’m standing there, waiting for my cappuccino, and this old dude starts chatting me up. He’s all like, “You know, back in my day…” and I’m just nodding, trying to be polite. But inside, I’m like, “Dude, I just want my caffeine fix!” Finally, I get my drink, and it’s perfect. Like, foamy and hot. I’m feeling good. Then, I decide to stroll down to the park, Parco della Rimembranza. It’s a nice spot, right? Trees everywhere, kids playing, and I’m just soaking it all in. But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs past me, and I swear he almost knocks me over. I’m like, “Hey, watch it, mini tornado!” But he just giggles and keeps running. Kids these days, man. So, I’m sitting on a bench, sipping my coffee, and I see this couple arguing. Like, full-on shouting. I can’t help but eavesdrop. They’re fighting about…wait for it…who left the cap off the toothpaste. I mean, really? That’s what you’re fighting about? I’m cracking up. I’m thinking, “If that’s the worst of your problems, you’re doing alright!” After that, I decide to hit up the local market on Via Garibaldi. Fresh produce, right? I’m all about that life. I grab some tomatoes, and this lady at the stall starts telling me how to pick the best ones. I’m like, “Lady, I just want to make a salad, not win a tomato contest!” But she’s super passionate, so I just nod along. Then, I spot this cute little bakery. I can’t resist. I go in, and the smell hits me like a freight train. I order a cornetto, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. I’m munching away, and I see this guy outside, looking all grumpy. I’m thinking, “Dude, you need a cornetto in your life!” But whatever, not my problem. Next, I decide to wander over to the old church, Chiesa di San Nicola. It’s beautiful, right? I walk in, and it’s all quiet and peaceful. I’m just taking it all in when this random cat strolls by. I’m like, “Is this your church too, buddy?” It’s just chilling, like it owns the place. I snap a pic for the ‘gram, of course. But then, BAM! My phone dies. Just like that. I’m standing there, in the middle of Montenero-di-Bisaccia, and I’m cut off from the world. I’m freaking out a bit. What if I get lost? What if I can’t find my way back? I mean, I know the streets, but still! I decide to head back to Via Roma. I’m walking, and I see this street performer. He’s playing the accordion, and it’s actually kinda nice. I toss him a couple of euros, and he gives me a nod. I’m feeling generous, you know? Finally, I make it back to my favorite café. I order another coffee, because why not? I sit down, and I’m just reflecting on the day. It was wild, emotional, and honestly, a bit exhausting. But that’s Montenero-di-Bisaccia for ya. Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of chaos. As I sip my coffee, I think, “Man, I love this place.” Even with the craziness, it’s home. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
