Man, what a day! I swear, Montoro-Superiore really knows how to throw a curveball. I woke up thinking it’d be just another chill day in this little gem of a town. You know, the usual—grab a coffee at Bar Centrale on Via Roma, maybe stroll down to the old church, Chiesa di San Bartolomeo. But nah, life had other plans. So, I’m at Bar Centrale, right? Sippin’ my espresso, and this dude walks in. He’s all frantic, like he just saw a ghost or something. Turns out, he lost his dog. I mean, c’mon, who loses their dog in Montoro? It’s a small place! Anyway, I finish my coffee and decide to help him out. We hit the streets—Via San Francesco, Via dei Fiori, you name it. I’m calling out “Fido!” like I’m some kind of dog whisperer. Spoiler alert: no Fido. After an hour of searching, I’m like, “Dude, maybe Fido just wanted a vacation?” He laughs, but I can see the worry in his eyes. Finally, we find the little rascal chillin’ by the fountain in Piazza della Libertà. I swear, that dog looked like it was living its best life. I felt a mix of relief and annoyance. Like, really? You had us running around for nothing? But then, just as I’m about to head home, I bump into my buddy Marco. He’s all hyped up about this new pizza place on Via Roma. I’m like, “Dude, I just had coffee!” But Marco’s relentless. “C’mon, it’s the best pizza ever!” So, I’m thinking, why not? I could use a slice of happiness. We get to this place, and it’s packed. I mean, Montoro’s not that big, but everyone and their grandma is here. The smell of fresh dough hits me like a wave. I’m drooling. We finally snag a table, and I order the Margherita. Classic, right? Marco goes for some weird truffle thing. I’m like, “Bro, you’re fancy now?” While we’re waiting, I notice this old guy at the next table. He’s got this epic mustache, like a cartoon villain. He’s arguing with the waiter about the price of wine. I’m trying not to laugh, but it’s hilarious. The waiter’s just nodding, looking like he’s seen it all before. Classic Montoro, man. Finally, the pizza arrives, and oh my god. It’s a masterpiece. I take a bite, and it’s like fireworks in my mouth. I’m talking about the kind of pizza that makes you forget your problems. Marco’s too busy taking selfies with his truffle monstrosity. I’m like, “Dude, eat it before it gets cold!” After stuffing our faces, we decide to walk it off. We wander down to the old castle ruins on the hill. The view from up there is insane. You can see the whole valley, the mountains in the distance. I’m standing there, feeling all philosophical, like, “Wow, life is beautiful.” Then I trip over a rock. Classic me, right? As the sun sets, everything turns golden. I’m feeling all the feels. But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I’m soaked in seconds. Marco’s laughing his head off, and I’m just standing there, arms out like, “Really, Montoro? You had to ruin the moment?” We dash back to the car, laughing like idiots. I’m soaked, but I don’t even care. It was one of those days, you know? Full of ups and downs, but that’s life in Montoro-Superiore. It’s quirky, it’s wild, and it’s totally unpredictable. So yeah, that was my day. From lost dogs to epic pizza and a surprise rain shower. Montoro, you crazy little town, you never fail to surprise me. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
