Wow, what a day! Seriously, Narni is wild. I mean, I thought I was just gonna do some boring business analysis stuff, but nah, this city had other plans for me. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping. I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” I grab my coffee from this cute little café on Via Garibaldi. Best cappuccino ever, no joke. But then, boom! My phone buzzes. Client wants a last-minute meeting. Ugh, typical. I rush over to the meeting spot, which is at this old building near the Ponte di Augusto. Like, seriously, who schedules meetings in ancient ruins? I’m sweating bullets, and I’m not even late yet. I get there, and guess what? The client is late. Classic. I’m standing there, looking at the Tiber River, thinking, “This is so not worth it.” Finally, the client shows up, and he’s all flustered. Turns out he got lost. I mean, it’s not that hard! Just follow the river, dude! Anyway, we dive into the meeting. I’m trying to explain some data trends, and he’s just staring at me like I’m speaking Martian. I’m like, “C’mon, man! It’s not rocket science!” After what feels like an eternity, we wrap it up. I’m relieved, but then I step outside, and it’s pouring rain. Like, seriously? I didn’t sign up for a monsoon! I dash down Via del Teatro, trying to find shelter. I duck into this little shop selling handmade pottery. It’s adorable, but I’m soaked. The shop owner, this sweet old lady, offers me a towel. I’m like, “Thanks, but I’m good!” She insists, and I can’t say no. While I’m drying off, I start chatting with her. She tells me about Narni’s history, how it’s been around since Roman times. I’m like, “Wow, I’m just a blip in time.” After that, I’m feeling a bit better. I decide to explore. I wander down to the Piazza dei Priori. It’s stunning! The architecture is insane. I snap a few pics for the ‘gram. Gotta show off, right? But then, I trip over a cobblestone. Classic me. I’m sprawled out on the ground, and this group of tourists starts laughing. I laugh too, because what else can you do? I get up, dust myself off, and head to this gelato place on Via Roma. I order a scoop of pistachio, my fave. It’s heavenly! I’m standing there, enjoying my gelato, when I see this street performer. He’s playing the accordion, and it’s actually pretty good. I toss him a few coins. Gotta support the arts, ya know? Then, outta nowhere, I get a text from my boss. “Need those reports ASAP!” I’m like, “Seriously? I’m in Narni!” But I can’t ignore it. I find a bench near the Narni Cathedral, pull out my laptop, and start typing away. I’m in the zone, but then my battery dies. Of course! I look around for an outlet, and there’s none in sight. I’m about to lose it. I mean, come on! I just want to enjoy this beautiful city! Finally, I spot a café with power outlets. I rush over, plug in, and order another coffee. I’m chugging it down, trying to finish my work. I’m almost done when I hear this loud crash. I look up, and a pigeon just knocked over a whole tray of pastries. I can’t help but laugh. After I finally send the reports, I decide to treat myself. I head to this little trattoria on Via della Repubblica. The food is to die for! I order pasta, and it’s like a party in my mouth. I’m in heaven. As the sun sets, I stroll back to the Ponte di Augusto. The view is breathtaking. I think about how crazy today was. From meetings to gelato to pigeons, Narni really knows how to keep you on your toes. I head back to my hotel, exhausted but happy. What a day! I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. Narni, you’ve got my heart!
