Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a sharpener in Nettuno is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I head down Via Roma, my usual route. The cobblestones are all bumpy, and I’m dodging tourists like I’m in some kinda video game. Seriously, these folks don’t know how to walk! I almost tripped over a kid who was too busy staring at his phone. Like, dude, look up! You’re in Nettuno, not a video game! Anyway, I get to my spot by the harbor. The sea’s all sparkly, and I’m feeling good. I set up my little sharpening station, you know, just me, my tools, and the sound of waves crashing. But then, BAM! A seagull swoops down and snatches my sandwich right off the table! I’m standing there, mouth agape, like, “Did that just happen?” I mean, come on! I’m just trying to eat here! So, I’m hungry and a bit cranky. I start sharpening some knives for this local chef, right? He’s all excited about his new menu. I’m like, “Dude, you better not cut yourself with these!” He laughs, but I’m serious. I’ve seen some accidents, man. Anyway, while I’m working, I hear this commotion down by the beach. Turns out, there’s a beach volleyball tournament happening. The energy is wild! People are cheering, and I’m like, “I should’ve brought my sunscreen!” Then, outta nowhere, this guy runs up to me. He’s all sweaty and outta breath. “Hey, can you sharpen my knife? I’m in a hurry!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m not a magician!” But I take it anyway. I mean, who can resist a frantic dude? I sharpen it in record time, and he bolts off. I hope he doesn’t stab anyone! After that, I decide to take a break. I stroll down to the beach, and wow, the view! The sun’s setting, painting the sky all orange and pink. I sit on the sand, just soaking it all in. But then, I see this couple arguing. Like, really arguing. I’m thinking, “C’mon, you’re in Nettuno! Chill out!” But nope, they’re throwing insults like it’s an Olympic sport. I can’t help but chuckle. Love is weird, man. As the sun dips, I head back to my spot. I’m packing up when I bump into my buddy Marco. He’s a fisherman, and he’s got this huge catch. “Wanna try some?” he asks. I’m like, “Heck yeah!” So, we grill some fish right there on the beach. It’s delicious! I’m feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Nettuno’s got that magic, you know? But then, just when I think the day’s winding down, I hear sirens. I look over, and there’s a whole squad of cops chasing after some guy. I’m like, “What the heck? Is this a movie?” Turns out, the guy stole a gelato cart! I mean, who steals gelato? That’s just wrong! I can’t help but laugh. Only in Nettuno, right? Finally, I pack up and head home. My feet are sore, my stomach’s full, and my heart’s happy. I think about all the crazy stuff that happened today. From seagulls to stolen gelato, it’s just another day in this wild little town. I love it here. Nettuno, you’re a gem! Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
