Man, what a day! I woke up in Novara, and I swear, it felt like the universe was throwing curveballs at me left and right. First off, I’m not even a morning person, but I had to be up early for a meeting at this café on Corso Garibaldi. You know, the one with the best cappuccinos? Yeah, that one. I thought I’d treat myself, but guess what? They ran out of my favorite almond croissants. Like, seriously? Who runs out of croissants in the morning? So, I’m sitting there, grumpy as hell, and then my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Marco. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta check out the new street art on Via Fratelli Rosselli!” I’m like, “Yeah, sure, after my meeting.” But then I thought, why not? I mean, I could use a little color in my life, right? Meeting was a total snooze fest. Just a bunch of suits talking about budgets and numbers. I was zoning out, thinking about that street art. Finally, it ended, and I bolted outta there. I mean, I practically ran to Via Fratelli Rosselli. And wow, just wow! The murals were insane! There was this giant mural of a cat wearing sunglasses. I mean, who doesn’t love a cool cat? I snapped a pic for the ‘gram, of course. But then, outta nowhere, it started pouring. Like, I’m talking torrential downpour. I had no umbrella. Classic me, right? So, I ducked into this little shop on Via San Francesco d’Assisi. It was a cute little place, selling all sorts of random stuff. I ended up buying a ridiculous rain poncho that looked like a giant trash bag. I mean, I looked like a walking recycling bin. But hey, at least I was dry! After the rain let up, I decided to stroll around the city. Novara is so beautiful, man. The architecture is a mix of old and new. I passed by the Basilica di San Gaudenzio, and that dome is just something else. I could stare at it for hours. But then, I got distracted by this street performer on Piazza Martiri. He was playing the accordion, and honestly, he was killing it! I dropped a couple of euros in his hat. Gotta support the arts, right? Then, I thought, “Why not grab a gelato?” So, I headed to this gelateria on Via Cavour. I got pistachio and stracciatella. Best combo ever! I was walking, licking my gelato, feeling like a king. But then, I tripped over a cobblestone. Like, how do I even trip on a cobblestone? I almost face-planted into the gelato. Thank goodness I saved it! After that little fiasco, I decided to head to the Parco dei Bambini. It’s this cute park where kids play, and honestly, it’s just a nice spot to chill. I plopped down on a bench, enjoying my gelato, when I saw this little kid running around with a balloon. He was so happy, and it made me smile. Kids have this way of reminding you what joy looks like, you know? But then, out of nowhere, this dog comes charging at me. I’m talking full-on sprint. I thought I was gonna get tackled! Turns out, it was just a friendly pup. He jumped up on me, all wagging his tail. I was laughing so hard. The owner came running after him, all out of breath. We ended up chatting for a bit. Turns out, he’s a local artist too. Small world, right? As the sun started to set, I made my way back home. I was exhausted but happy. Novara had thrown me a wild ride today. From croissant drama to street art and unexpected dog encounters, it was a day to remember. I plopped down on my couch, kicked off my shoes, and thought, “Man, I love this city.” So yeah, that was my day in Novara. Just another crazy, beautiful day in the life!
