Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a carpenter in Olgiate-Olona can be a wild ride. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s barely up, and I’m already feelin’ the weight of the world. I grab my coffee from that little bar on Via Roma. You know the one? The one with the best pastries. I swear, their cornetti are like little bites of heaven. Anyway, I’m sippin’ my coffee, and I get a call. It’s a client. “Hey, can you fix my deck today?” I’m like, “Sure, why not?” But then I remember, I promised my buddy Marco I’d help him with his new shop on Via Garibaldi. Ugh, typical me, right? Always overcommitting. So, I rush over to this deck job. It’s on Via Monte Grappa. Nice place, but the deck? Total disaster. I mean, who builds a deck with rotting wood? Seriously! I’m there, hammer in hand, and I’m just fuming. I’m thinkin’, “What kind of idiot thinks this is okay?” While I’m workin’, I see this kid on a bike zoomin’ by. He’s got no helmet, just flyin’ down the street like he’s in the Tour de France. I’m like, “Dude, you’re gonna end up in the hospital!” But he just laughs and keeps goin’. Kids these days, man. So, I finally finish the deck. It’s lookin’ good, but I’m drenched in sweat. I head back to my van, and guess what? I locked my keys inside. Classic! I’m standin’ there, cursing under my breath, when this old lady walks by. She’s like, “You need help, young man?” I’m thinkin’, “Yeah, if you’ve got a spare key!” But I just smile and say, “Nah, I got it.” Finally, I manage to get in. I zoom over to Via Garibaldi to help Marco. He’s got this new shop, right? It’s a cool little place, but he’s got boxes everywhere. I’m talkin’ chaos. I walk in, and it’s like a tornado hit. “Dude, what’s with the mess?” I ask. He just shrugs. “It’s a work in progress.” We start organizing, and I’m feelin’ good. Music’s pumpin’, and we’re laughin’. Then, outta nowhere, the power goes out. I’m like, “Seriously?!” We’re in the dark, and I can’t see a thing. Marco’s fumblin’ around, and I’m just tryin’ not to trip over the boxes. After a few minutes, the lights flicker back on. Thank goodness! But then, I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and a shelf has fallen over. I’m like, “What now?!” We both burst out laughin’. It’s just one of those days, ya know? By the time we finish, it’s late. I’m exhausted but happy. I step outside, and the sunset over Olgiate-Olona is beautiful. The colors are insane! I take a moment to breathe it all in. This city, man, it’s got its quirks, but I love it. I head home, and I’m thinkin’ about all the craziness. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Olgiate-Olona, with its streets and people, it’s my kinda place. Just another day in the life of a carpenter, right?
