Man, what a day! Seriously, Olginate hit me like a ton of bricks. I woke up, sun shining, birds chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit the streets of Via Roma. Love that street, but today? Ugh. I’m walking, minding my own biz, and boom! A pigeon decides my shoulder is a landing pad. Like, dude, I’m not a taxi! I swatted it away, and it just cooed at me like I was the problem. Rude. So, I’m already annoyed, right? I head over to the little café on Via Garibaldi. Best cappuccino in town, no joke. I order my usual, and the barista, Marco, is like, “Hey, you want extra foam?” I’m like, “Dude, I’m not a foam fanatic.” But I said it with a smile, ya know? He laughs, and I’m like, “Okay, maybe today’s not so bad.” Then, I sit outside, soaking in the vibe. Olginate is so pretty, man. The way the sun hits the Adda River? Pure magic. I’m sipping my coffee, feeling all artsy, when I see this kid, maybe 10 years old, drawing on the sidewalk with chalk. I’m thinking, “Wow, this kid’s got talent!” But then, he draws a giant monster that looks like it ate a pizza. I’m cracking up. Kids are wild. But then, outta nowhere, this old lady starts yelling at him. “That’s not art! It’s a mess!” I’m like, “Chill, lady! It’s chalk!” But she’s relentless. I’m getting mad for the kid. I mean, come on! Let him express himself! So, I jump in, “Hey, lady, it’s art in progress!” She glares at me, and I’m like, “Okay, maybe I should’ve kept my mouth shut.” After that drama, I decide to stroll down to the park by the river. It’s called Parco della Valle, and it’s my happy place. I plop down on a bench, and just breathe. But then, I see this couple arguing. Like, full-on shouting. I’m thinking, “Dude, not in public!” But then, the guy pulls out a ring. I’m like, “Wait, what?” He proposes right there! She’s crying, and I’m crying, and it’s a whole thing. Olginate, you’re wild today! So, I’m feeling all the feels, right? I whip out my sketchbook. Gotta capture this moment. I start doodling the couple, and then I hear someone behind me. It’s a dog! A big fluffy one, just chilling. I’m like, “Hey, buddy!” And he just plops down next to me. I’m petting him, and it’s like, instant therapy. Dogs are the best. But then, I realize I’ve lost track of time. I gotta get back to my studio on Via Cavour. I’m rushing, and of course, I trip over my own feet. Classic me. I’m laughing at myself, but then I see a group of tourists. They’re lost, looking at a map like it’s a puzzle. I’m like, “You guys need help?” They’re super grateful, and I end up giving them a mini tour. “That’s the church, that’s the river, and that’s where I tripped.” They laugh, and I’m like, “See? I’m a local guide now!” Finally, I make it back to my studio, and I’m exhausted. But I’m buzzing with ideas. Olginate, you crazy little town, you’ve inspired me. I start sketching like a madman. The couple, the kid with the chalk, even the pigeon. It’s all going down on paper. By the end of the day, I’m spent but happy. Olginate, you threw me a curveball, but I caught it. I love this place, with all its quirks and surprises. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
