Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in Ortona, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up Via Roma for some coffee. You know, the good stuff. I’m standing there, waiting for my cappuccino, and this dude in front of me orders, like, a 5-layered, whipped cream, sprinkle explosion. I’m just trying to get my caffeine fix, man! I’m like, “Bro, it’s 8 AM, not a dessert buffet!” But whatever, I’m patient. Kinda. Finally, I get my coffee, and I’m feeling good. I stroll down to the beach, you know, the one by the Castello Aragonese. The view is insane! The waves crashing, the sun glistening off the water. I’m thinking, “Life is good.” But then, BAM! A seagull swoops down and steals my croissant! Like, seriously? I’m just trying to enjoy my breakfast, and this feathered thief decides I’m his personal buffet. I’m yelling, “Hey! That’s mine!” But he’s already flying away, looking all smug. Ugh! So, I’m fuming, but I decide to walk it off. I head over to Corso Vittorio Emanuele. It’s bustling, people everywhere. I love the vibe, but it’s a bit much today. I bump into this old lady, and she’s like, “Watch where you’re going!” I’m like, “Lady, I’m sorry! I didn’t see you behind the crowd!” But she just glares at me. I mean, come on, it’s Ortona, not a wrestling match! Then, I spot this street performer on Via dei Frentani. He’s playing the accordion, and honestly, he’s pretty good. I stop to listen, and suddenly, I’m transported. It’s like I’m in a movie or something. But then, out of nowhere, this kid runs by and knocks over his hat. Money goes flying everywhere! I’m scrambling to help, but it’s chaos. I’m laughing and trying to catch coins like I’m in some weird game show. The performer’s just shaking his head, but hey, at least we’re all having a moment, right? After that, I’m feeling a bit better, so I decide to grab some gelato at this little shop on Piazza della Repubblica. I order pistachio, my fave. But the guy behind the counter is super slow. I’m standing there, watching the clock, thinking, “C’mon, man! I’ve got places to be!” Finally, I get my gelato, and it’s glorious. I take a big scoop, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. But then, I trip on a cobblestone and almost faceplant! I’m laughing at myself, like, “Really? You can’t even walk and eat gelato?” Next, I head to the beach again, trying to chill. I plop down on the sand, and it’s packed. Families, kids, everyone’s having a blast. I’m just trying to soak it all in when this group of teenagers starts blasting music. I’m talking full-on party mode. I’m like, “Dude, we’re at the beach, not a club!” But I can’t help but smile. Their energy is contagious. As the sun starts to set, the sky turns this crazy orange. I’m sitting there, feeling all the feels. Ortona is beautiful, man. I think about how lucky I am to live here. But then, I remember the seagull and the old lady, and I’m like, “Life’s a rollercoaster, huh?” Finally, I head back home, exhausted but happy. I can’t believe all the stuff that happened today. Ortona, you wild! I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Just another day in this crazy, beautiful city. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
