OMG, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in my little room on Via Roma, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m a Maiko, so I gotta look fab. I mean, who doesn’t wanna strut around in a kimono, right? But lemme tell ya, getting into that thing is a workout. I’m sweating bullets, and I’m like, “Why do I do this to myself?” But whatever, I finally get it on, and I’m feeling cute. I head out to Piazza del Duomo. It’s packed, like, seriously packed. Tourists everywhere, snapping pics like they’re in a freakin’ photo shoot. I’m just trying to walk, and these peeps are blocking the way. Ugh! I’m dodging left and right, like I’m in some weird game of Frogger. Then, outta nowhere, this kid runs into me. I’m like, “Dude, watch it!” But he just giggles and runs off. Kids, man. They’re wild. I can’t even be mad. So, I’m trying to keep my cool, but then I see this street performer on Via Cavour. He’s playing the accordion, and it’s actually kinda nice. I stop to listen, and I’m vibing. But then, BAM! A pigeon poops on my shoulder. Like, seriously? I’m standing there, in my gorgeous kimono, and I just got hit by a bird bomb. I’m freaking out, trying to wipe it off, and the accordion guy is laughing. I’m like, “Thanks, dude, real helpful.” After that, I decide to grab some gelato at this little shop on Via San Martino. I’m all about that pistachio life, ya know? So I order it, and the guy behind the counter is super cute. I’m blushing, trying to act cool, but I’m also like, “Please don’t drop my gelato.” I get my cone, and it’s perfect. I take a big lick, and it’s like heaven. But then, I trip on a cobblestone. Classic me. Gelato goes flying, and I’m just standing there, mouth agape, watching it splat on the ground. I’m like, “Nooooo!” Now I’m mad. I just wanted my gelato! So, I go back to the counter, and the cute guy is like, “You okay?” I’m like, “Yeah, just lost my gelato to the pavement.” He laughs and gives me a free one. Bless his heart! Feeling a bit better, I wander over to the canal. The water’s sparkling, and I’m just soaking it all in. I see some locals chilling, and they wave at me. I wave back, feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. It’s moments like this that make me love Patti. But then, I hear this loud commotion. Turns out, there’s a street vendor arguing with a customer over prices. I’m like, “C’mon, it’s just a sandwich!” But they’re going at it, and I’m just standing there, eavesdropping like a total creep. Finally, I decide to head back home. I’m exhausted, but it’s been a wild ride. I think about all the craziness of the day. The pigeon poop, the gelato disaster, the cute guy, and the street drama. As I walk back down Via Roma, I can’t help but smile. Patti is a whirlwind, but it’s my whirlwind. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’m a Maiko, and this city is my stage. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
