Man, what a day! I swear, if I had a euro for every crazy thing that happened in Pianezza today, I’d be rich. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I head outta my apartment on Via Roma. Love that street, but it’s always packed. Like, why do people insist on walking three abreast? Move it, folks! Anyway, I’m dodging tourists and locals alike, trying to get to my office. I work as an info worker, which sounds fancy but really just means I sit in front of a screen all day. Fun, right? So, I’m cruising down Via Torino, and bam! I see this street performer. Dude’s playing the accordion like he’s in a movie. I stop, totally vibing, and toss him a couple of coins. He gives me this huge grin, and I’m like, “Yeah, man! Keep it up!” But then, outta nowhere, this pigeon swoops down and lands on my shoulder. I freak out! Like, “Get off me, bird!” Everyone’s laughing, and I’m just standing there, flapping my arms like a maniac. Finally, I shake the pigeon off and keep walking. I’m almost at the office when I realize I forgot my laptop charger. Ugh! So, I sprint back home, dodging more people. I swear, if I had a dollar for every time I almost tripped over someone, I’d be a millionaire. I grab the charger and head back to work. By now, I’m sweating like crazy. I get to the office, and my boss is like, “You’re late!” I’m like, “Dude, I just ran a marathon!” But he doesn’t care. He’s all about deadlines and reports. So, I sit down, plug in my charger, and dive into work. A few hours in, I get a message from my buddy Marco. He’s like, “Let’s grab a drink later at Bar Centrale.” I’m like, “Heck yeah!” I need a break. But then, my computer crashes. Just shuts down. I’m staring at the screen like it’s possessed. I’m about to lose my mind. I mean, come on! After what feels like an eternity, I finally get it back up. I finish my work, and I’m outta there. I race to Bar Centrale, which is on Piazza della Libertà. It’s a cool spot, always buzzing with people. I walk in, and Marco’s already there, sipping on a spritz. “Dude, you look like you’ve seen a ghost!” he laughs. I tell him about the pigeon, the charger, the crash. He’s cracking up. “Only you, man!” We chill for a bit, and I order a drink. The vibe is great, and I’m finally relaxing. But then, this random guy walks in, and he’s wearing a full-on chicken suit. Like, what? I can’t even. He starts dancing around, and everyone’s losing it. I’m laughing so hard, I almost spill my drink. After a while, we decide to hit the streets. We wander around, checking out the little shops on Via Cavour. I find this cute little place selling handmade pasta. I’m like, “I need this in my life!” So, I buy a bunch of it. As we’re walking back, I can’t help but think about how wild today was. From the pigeon to the chicken suit, it’s like I was in a sitcom. I’m exhausted but happy. Pianezza, you crazy little town, you never fail to surprise me. Finally, I head home, and I’m just thinking about how tomorrow can’t possibly be as nuts as today. But knowing my luck, it probably will be. Ah, well. Bring it on!
