Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in Piove-di-Sacco-Piovega, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up Via Roma for my morning coffee. You know, the usual spot, Bar Centrale. Best cappuccino in town, no cap. But guess what? They ran outta milk! Like, how do you run outta milk in Italy? I was ready to throw a fit. I mean, c’mon, it’s not rocket science! So, I settled for an espresso. Not the same vibe, but whatever. Then, I decided to stroll down to the park, Parco della Libertà. It’s a nice spot, ya know? Trees, benches, the whole shebang. I’m just vibin’, listening to some tunes, when I see this kid flying a kite. And I’m like, “Aww, that’s cute.” But then, outta nowhere, the kite gets stuck in a tree. The kid starts crying, and I’m like, “Dude, it’s just a kite!” But I felt for him, ya know? I mean, I’ve had my fair share of kite disasters. So, I helped him out. Climbing trees is not my forte, but I got it down. The kid was stoked, and I felt like a hero for a hot sec. After that, I hit up Via Garibaldi. There’s this little market there, and I’m all about the fresh produce. I grab some tomatoes, and this old lady starts chatting me up. She’s like, “You know, these tomatoes are the best in Piove.” I’m thinking, “Lady, I just want my salad.” But she goes on and on about her garden. I’m nodding, but inside I’m like, “Please, I just wanna go home.” Then, I head over to the canal, Naviglio di Piove. It’s beautiful, but man, the smell! Like, what’s going on? I swear, it’s like a mix of fish and something else. I almost gagged. But then I see this couple taking selfies, and I’m like, “Okay, that’s cute.” They’re all lovey-dovey, and I’m just standing there, single as a Pringle. So, I decide to grab some gelato at Gelateria Piovese. Best decision ever! I go for pistachio, my fave. But as I’m enjoying it, I see this guy trip and fall right in front of me. I’m talking full-on faceplant. I couldn’t help but laugh. I mean, c’mon, it was hilarious! He gets up, all embarrassed, and I’m like, “Dude, you good?” He just brushes it off, but I’m still chuckling. Later, I’m walking back home, and I pass by the old church, Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista. It’s stunning, but I’m too tired to appreciate it. I just wanna crash. But then, I hear music. There’s a street performer playing the accordion. I stop, and it’s actually pretty good. I throw him a couple of euros, feeling generous. Finally, I get home, and I’m like, “What a day!” I plop on the couch, exhausted but happy. Piove-di-Sacco-Piovega, you crazy little town, you never fail to surprise me. I mean, who knew a day could be so wild? From coffee disasters to kite rescues, to faceplants and gelato, it’s all part of the charm. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
