Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a radio operator in Poggio-Rusco is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I grab my coffee from that little bar on Via Roma. You know the one? The one with the best cornetti in town. I’m all set to enjoy my morning when BAM! My radio crackles to life. “Emergency at the market!” they say. I spill my coffee everywhere. Great start, huh? So, I rush over to the market on Piazza della Libertà. It’s chaos! People are running around like headless chickens. Turns out, some dude’s goat got loose. Yeah, a goat! In the middle of the market! I mean, who brings a goat to the market? I’m tryin’ to keep my cool, but inside, I’m like, “What the heck, Poggio-Rusco?” I finally get the goat cornered near Via Garibaldi. It’s bleating like it’s auditioning for a musical. I’m laughing, but also, I’m like, “C’mon, man, I got work to do!” After a solid 20 minutes of chasing, we finally get the goat back to its owner. The guy’s just chillin’ like it’s no big deal. I’m fuming, but also kinda impressed. Only in Poggio-Rusco, right? Then, I head back to the station, and my buddy Marco’s there. He’s got this wild story about a cat stuck in a tree on Via Mazzini. I’m like, “Dude, I just dealt with a goat!” But Marco’s all hyped up, so I’m like, “Fine, let’s go save the cat.” We get there, and it’s a whole scene. This cat is just lounging on a branch, looking down at us like we’re the idiots. I’m thinking, “You’re the one stuck, buddy!” After some awkward ladder climbing and a lot of coaxing, we finally get the cat down. The owner’s all teary-eyed, and I’m just relieved it didn’t turn into a goat situation again. By now, I’m starving. I swing by that little pizzeria on Via Roma again. You know, the one with the best margherita? I order a slice, and while I’m waiting, I overhear some locals talking about the old church on Via della Chiesa. Apparently, they found some ancient coins there. I’m like, “What? In Poggio-Rusco? That’s wild!” So, I finish my pizza, and I’m feeling good. But then, my radio buzzes again. “Accident on the outskirts!” Ugh, can’t a guy catch a break? I hop in the van and zoom over to the scene. Turns out, it’s just a fender bender. But the drivers are arguing like it’s the end of the world. I’m standing there, shaking my head, thinking, “This is why we can’t have nice things, people!” Finally, I wrap up my shift. I’m exhausted but also kinda pumped. Poggio-Rusco is a wild place. I mean, where else can you chase goats, rescue cats, and deal with drama queens all in one day? I head home, and as I’m walking down Via Roma, I can’t help but smile. This town is nuts, but it’s my kind of nuts. So yeah, that was my day. Just another Tuesday in Poggio-Rusco. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
