Man, what a day! I swear, being a car instructor in Pontassieve is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m driving down Via Roma, and I’m already late. Classic me. I’m thinking, “Great, just what I need.” I hit every red light. Like, c’mon! I’m pretty sure the traffic lights are conspiring against me. Finally, I pull into the parking lot near the train station. It’s packed! I mean, who knew everyone and their grandma would be out today? I hop outta my car, and there’s this old dude, right? He’s trying to parallel park his tiny Fiat. I’m talking like a 5-point turn. I’m standing there, watching him struggle, and I’m like, “Bro, it’s not rocket science!” But hey, we’ve all been there, right? I just can’t help but chuckle. So, I finally get to the driving school, and my first student is this kid named Marco. He’s 17, full of energy, and thinks he’s the next F1 driver. We get in the car, and he’s revving the engine like it’s a race. I’m like, “Dude, chill! We’re not at Mugello!” We hit the streets, and he’s zooming down Via della Repubblica. I’m gripping the “oh crap” handle like it’s my lifeline. He’s swerving, and I’m yelling, “Stay in your lane, man!” But he’s got that look in his eyes like he’s on a mission. I’m half-expecting him to take a shortcut through the park. Then, outta nowhere, this cat darts across the road. I’m talking full-on cartoon style. Marco slams the brakes, and I’m like, “Dude, you almost gave me a heart attack!” He’s laughing, and I’m just trying to breathe. After that, we head towards the Ponte a Sieci. Beautiful view, right? But I’m still shaking from the cat incident. I tell Marco to take it easy, and he’s like, “I got this!” Yeah, right. He nearly misses a turn, and I’m thinking, “Is this how I go out? In a car with a wannabe racer?” Next up, we swing by the local market. It’s bustling! Fresh produce, people chatting, and I’m just trying to keep my sanity. Marco’s eyes are wide, and he’s like, “Can we stop?” I’m like, “No way, man! Focus!” But then I see this amazing cheese stall. I’m talking about the good stuff. I’m tempted to pull over and grab some. Finally, we get back to the school, and I’m exhausted. I’m thinking, “How do people do this every day?” But then, I see Marco’s face. He’s grinning ear to ear. He’s like, “That was awesome!” And I’m like, “Yeah, if you don’t count the near-death experiences.” Next student is Sofia. She’s a bit more chill, thank goodness. We drive around the outskirts, and I’m finally catching my breath. We hit Via di Villamagna, and it’s peaceful. I’m starting to think, “Maybe today won’t be so bad after all.” But then, we get stuck behind this slow-moving tractor. I’m losing it. I’m like, “C’mon, man! We’re in the 21st century!” Sofia’s laughing, and I’m just shaking my head. By the end of the day, I’m ready to crash. I’m driving home, and I can’t help but think about all the craziness. Pontassieve is beautiful, but man, it’s a wild ride. I pull into my driveway, and I’m just grateful to be alive. So yeah, that was my day. Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of chaos. Just another day in Pontassieve, I guess!
