Man, what a day! I swear, being a shepherd in Priverno is like being in a soap opera sometimes. So, I wake up early, right? The sun’s barely up, and I’m already out there with my sheep. You know, just another day in the life. But today? Oh boy, today was a whole different story. First off, I’m strolling down Via Roma, just me and my flock. The cobblestones are all uneven, and I’m dodging potholes like I’m in some kind of obstacle course. I’m thinking, “Why can’t they fix these roads?” But whatever, I’m used to it. Then, outta nowhere, this car zooms by, honking like a madman. I jump, the sheep scatter, and I’m like, “Great, just great!” So, I’m chasing after them, right? Running down Via della Libertà, trying to gather my woolly crew. I’m yelling, “Come back, you fluffy idiots!” It’s like herding cats, I swear. Finally, I get them back together, but now I’m sweating like a pig. Then, I decide to take a break at the piazza. You know, the one with the fountain? It’s kinda nice there, but today it’s packed. Tourists everywhere, snapping pics like they’re in a fashion show. I sit down, trying to catch my breath, and this old guy comes up to me. He’s like, “You know, shepherding is a dying art.” I’m thinking, “Yeah, thanks for the reminder, buddy.” But then, he starts telling me about the history of Priverno. Did you know it used to be a Roman settlement? Crazy, right? I’m just nodding along, but inside I’m like, “Dude, I just wanna chill with my sheep.” After that, I head over to the market on Via Garibaldi. Man, the smells! Fresh bread, cheese, and all that good stuff. I grab a slice of pizza from this little stand. Best pizza ever, no joke. I’m munching away, feeling all happy, when I see this kid trying to steal a piece of cheese. I’m like, “Hey! What do you think you’re doing?” He looks at me like a deer in headlights. Classic. So, I finish my pizza, and I’m feeling good. But then, I get a call from my buddy Marco. He’s like, “Dude, you won’t believe what happened!” Apparently, there’s a sheep show at the local fair. I’m thinking, “Great, just what I need. More sheep drama.” But I can’t resist. I head over to the fairgrounds, and it’s packed. There’s this huge crowd, and I’m trying to squeeze through with my sheep. People are laughing, kids are running around, and I’m just trying to keep my flock in line. Then, outta nowhere, one of my sheep decides to take a detour. It bolts right into the dunk tank! I’m standing there, mouth agape, while everyone’s cracking up. I’m like, “Seriously? This is my life?” Finally, I manage to get my sheep outta the tank, but now it’s soaked. I’m soaked too, but whatever. We’re all having a good laugh. I even get a round of applause. Who knew being a shepherd could be so entertaining? As the sun sets over Priverno, I’m walking back home, my sheep finally calm. I’m exhausted but happy. I think about how wild today was. From dodging cars to sheep shows, it’s never a dull moment. And you know what? I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Priverno may be small, but it’s got a big heart. And so do I, even if my sheep don’t always listen. So yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy, emotional, hilarious day in Priverno. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
