Man, what a day! I woke up in Putignano, and I swear, I thought it was just gonna be another chill day. But nah, life had other plans. First off, I hit the streets of Via Roma, and it was like a scene from a movie. The sun was shining, people were buzzing, and I was just vibin’. But then, BAM! I stepped in some dog poop. Like, seriously? Who lets their dog do that in the middle of the street? I was fuming! I mean, come on, people! Clean up after your pets! So, I’m hopping on one foot, trying to scrape it off my shoe on the cobblestones of Via Mazzini. Not the best start, right? After that little fiasco, I decided to grab a coffee at this cute café on Piazza Plebiscito. The barista, this dude named Marco, was super chill. He made me a cappuccino that was like a hug in a cup. I was feeling better, until I realized I forgot my wallet. Ugh! So embarrassing! I had to do the whole “I’ll pay you back later” thing. Then, I wandered over to the Chiesa di Santa Maria del Carmine. Man, that place is stunning! The frescoes are like, outta this world. I was just standing there, soaking it all in, when this old lady came up to me. She started telling me about the history of the church, and I was like, “Wow, lady, you’re a walking history book!” She was so passionate, it made me happy. But then, outta nowhere, it started to rain. Like, really rain. I’m talking torrential downpour. I dashed down Via San Francesco, trying to find shelter. I ended up in this little shop selling handmade ceramics. The owner, a sweet old man, was super nice. He offered me a cup of tea while I waited for the rain to stop. I was like, “Dude, you’re a lifesaver!” Finally, the rain let up, and I was ready to explore again. I headed to the famous Putignano Carnival. OMG, the costumes were insane! People were dressed like everything from giant fruits to historical figures. I couldn’t stop laughing. I even joined a group of dancers for a bit. I mean, who cares if I have two left feet? But then, I got a bit too into it and accidentally knocked over a float. Oops! The crowd gasped, and I was like, “Oh no, I’m gonna get kicked out!” But instead, they just laughed and helped me up. It was all good vibes. As the sun set, I found myself at the top of a hill overlooking the city. The view was breathtaking. The lights of Putignano twinkled like stars. I felt this wave of gratitude wash over me. Despite the craziness, this city has a charm that’s hard to beat. I ended the day with a slice of pizza at a local joint. The owner, a big guy named Luigi, was cracking jokes and making everyone laugh. I was stuffed and happy, thinking about how wild this day had been. So yeah, Putignano, you’ve got my heart. Even with the poop, the rain, and the float fiasco, I wouldn’t trade this day for anything. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
