Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a Watchman in Raffadali is no joke. I woke up this mornin’ thinkin’ it’d be just another chill day, ya know? But nah, Raffadali had other plans. First off, I hit the streets around Via Roma. It was like a scene from a movie. The sun was shinin’, birds chirpin’, and I’m just tryin’ to sip my coffee. But then, BAM! A cat jumps outta nowhere, right in front of me. I spill my coffee all over my favorite jacket. Great start, right? I’m like, “Really, cat? You wanna fight?” So, I’m walkin’ down Via Garibaldi, tryin’ to shake off the cat drama. I see this old dude, Mr. Puglisi, sittin’ on his porch. He’s always got some wild story. Today, he’s talkin’ about how he once saw a UFO over the Chiesa Madre. I’m like, “Sure, Mr. Puglisi, aliens love Raffadali.” But honestly, I love his stories. They crack me up. Then, I head over to Piazza della Libertà. It’s packed! Kids runnin’ around, old ladies gossipin’, and the gelato shop is buzzin’. I can’t resist. I grab a cone of pistachio. Best decision ever! But then, I see this kid, maybe 10 years old, tryin’ to impress his crush. He trips and falls right into a fountain. Water everywhere! I’m laughin’ so hard, I almost drop my gelato. But then, things take a turn. I’m walkin’ down Via Vittorio Emanuele, and I hear this commotion. A couple of guys are yellin’ at each other. I’m thinkin’, “Oh great, a fight.” But nah, it’s just two guys argue about who makes the best arancini in town. Like, seriously? Who cares? But then, one of ‘em pulls out a plate of arancini, and I’m like, “Okay, I’m listenin’.” After that, I’m feelin’ all hyped up. I decide to check out the old castle ruins. You know, Castello di Raffadali? It’s kinda spooky but cool. I’m up there, lookin’ out over the city, and I’m thinkin’ about how much I love this place. The view is insane! But then, I hear a rustlin’ behind me. I turn around, and it’s just a bunch of pigeons. I swear, they’re out to get me. As the sun starts settlin’, I head back down. I’m cruisin’ through the streets, and I see this street performer on Via Roma. He’s playin’ the accordion, and it’s actually kinda nice. I toss him a couple of coins. He gives me a nod, and I’m feelin’ all warm inside. But then, I get back to my post, and I see a group of teenagers spray-paintin’ a wall. I’m like, “C’mon, guys! Not here!” But they’re all about their “art.” I mean, I get it, but there’s a time and place, ya know? I’m tryin’ to be the responsible Watchman, but I’m also thinkin’, “That’s kinda cool.” By the end of the day, I’m exhausted. I plop down on a bench in the piazza, watchin’ the sunset. The sky’s all orange and pink, and I’m just takin’ it all in. Raffadali, man. It’s wild, it’s beautiful, and it’s home. So yeah, that was my day. Full of craziness, laughter, and a bit of chaos. Just another day in Raffadali. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
