Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an arborist in Ravanusa is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First stop, Via Roma. I’m there, ready to check on this massive olive tree. You know, the one that’s been around since, like, the dawn of time? I’m all pumped, thinking about how I’m gonna give it some TLC. But then, bam! I see this dude trying to park his car. He’s all over the place, like he’s never seen a steering wheel before. I’m standing there, shaking my head, thinking, “Bro, it’s not a video game. You can’t just respawn!” Finally, I get to the tree. It’s beautiful, but there’s this huge branch hanging low. I’m like, “C’mon, man, don’t make me climb you today.” But I gotta do it. So, I strap on my harness, and up I go. Halfway up, I’m thinking about lunch. I mean, who doesn’t love a good arancino, right? But then, I hear this loud crash. My heart drops. I look down, and some kid just knocked over a trash can. Seriously? I’m up here risking my life, and this kid’s just out here playing demolition derby with the garbage. After I finish with the tree, I’m feeling good. I’m like, “Yeah, I saved the day!” But then I head over to Via Garibaldi. There’s this old lady, bless her heart, trying to carry her groceries. I’m like, “Lady, you need a hand?” She looks at me like I’m offering her a million bucks. So, I help her out, and she starts telling me about the good ol’ days in Ravanusa. You know, when the streets were filled with laughter and not just the sound of cars honking. I’m smiling, but inside, I’m like, “Why can’t we go back to that?” Then, I get a call. It’s my buddy Marco. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta come to the park!” I’m thinking, “What’s so special about the park?” But I go anyway. Turns out, they’re having this impromptu street performance. There’s a guy juggling flaming torches! I’m standing there, mouth agape, thinking, “This is Ravanusa? Where’s the camera crew?” I mean, who knew we had talent like that? But then, just as I’m getting into it, the wind picks up. And I’m talking like a mini tornado. The flames go wild, and I’m ducking for cover. I’m laughing, but also kinda scared. Like, “Dude, this isn’t a circus, it’s a disaster waiting to happen!” After that, I’m exhausted. I head to my favorite café on Via Vittorio Emanuele. I order a cappuccino, and the barista, she’s like, “You look like you’ve seen a ghost.” I’m like, “Nah, just a day in Ravanusa.” She laughs, and I’m thinking, “At least someone gets it.” As I sip my coffee, I can’t help but think about how crazy life is here. One minute, I’m climbing trees, the next, I’m dodging flaming torches. Ravanusa, man, it’s got its quirks. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It’s home. So, I wrap up my day, feeling all sorts of emotions. Happy, angry, surprised—like a rollercoaster, I swear. And as I walk home, I can’t help but smile. Ravanusa, you wild little town, you’ve got my heart.
