Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a shoemaker in Recco is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I head down Via Roma, my usual route to the shop. The smell of fresh focaccia from the bakery hits me like a freight train. I mean, who can resist that? I grab a slice, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. But then, bam! I spill olive oil all over my apron. Great start, huh? I’m like, “Really? Olive oil? Just what I needed.” So, I get to my shop on Via Garibaldi, and it’s a mess. Tools everywhere, leather scraps like confetti. I’m thinkin’, “Did a tornado hit or what?” I start cleaning up, and then my buddy Marco pops in. He’s all hyped about the beach at Punta di Chiappa. I’m like, “Dude, I’m stuck here with shoes!” But he convinces me to take a break. We head to the beach, and wow, the view! The Ligurian Sea is sparkling, and I’m feelin’ good. But then, I see this kid kickin’ a soccer ball. He kicks it, and guess where it lands? Right in my face! I’m like, “Seriously, kid?!” Everyone’s laughin’, and I can’t help but laugh too. It’s just a ball, right? After that, I’m back to work. I’m stitching up a pair of boots when this lady walks in. She’s all frantic, like she just saw a ghost. Turns out, her dog chewed up her favorite sandals. I’m tryin’ to keep a straight face, but I’m thinkin’, “What kind of dog does that?” I mean, come on! I tell her I can fix ‘em, but it’ll take a bit. She’s like, “I need them for tonight!” No pressure, right? So, I’m workin’ my magic, and I’m almost done when the power goes out. Just my luck! I’m sittin’ there in the dark, cursing like a sailor. I grab my phone for light, and guess what? It’s at 2%. I’m like, “No way!” I’m fumbling around, trying to finish these sandals. Finally, the lights flicker back on, and I’m like, “Thank you, Recco gods!” I finish the sandals just in time. The lady comes back, and her face lights up. She’s so happy, I swear she could’ve danced a jig right there. I’m feelin’ like a hero, ya know? But then, as she’s leavin’, she trips on the doorstep. I’m like, “Oh no, not again!” She’s fine, just a little embarrassed. I can’t help but chuckle. Recco’s streets are slippery, man! As the day winds down, I’m exhausted but happy. I step outside, and the sunset over the sea is breathtaking. The colors are wild, like a painter went nuts. I take a deep breath, and I’m grateful. Recco’s my home, with all its quirks and craziness. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? Just another day in Recco, where every moment’s an adventure. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
