Man, what a day! Seriously, Rignano-Flaminio, you’ve got me all kinds of twisted. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m strolling down Via Roma, coffee in hand, feeling like a boss. But then, BAM! I trip over a cobblestone. Like, who even put these here? I swear they’re out to get me. I spill my coffee all over my sketchbook. Ugh! My sketches of the old church on Piazza della Repubblica are now a coffee-stained mess. Great start, huh? So, I’m fuming, right? I decide to hit up the local bakery on Via della Libertà. Best pastries ever! I’m thinking, “A cornetto will fix this.” I get in line, and this lady in front of me is taking FOREVER. Like, lady, it’s not rocket science! Just pick a pastry! I’m about to lose it. Finally, I get my cornetto, and it’s warm and flaky. Sweet relief! But then, as I’m munching, I see this street performer on Via Flaminia. He’s playing the accordion, and honestly, he’s killing it! I’m vibing, feeling all the good energy. I toss him a couple of euros, and he gives me a nod. I’m like, “Yeah, I’m a patron of the arts now!” Then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, what? I thought we were done with this! I dash into a nearby café, and guess who’s there? My old buddy Marco! We haven’t seen each other in ages. We start chatting, and he’s telling me about his new animation project. I’m all ears, but then he drops this bomb: he’s moving to Rome. I’m like, “Dude, you can’t leave me here!” We laugh, we reminisce about our late-night sketching sessions at the park by the lake. I mean, Lago di Bracciano is just a stone’s throw away, and we used to chill there for hours. But now, he’s off to the big city. I’m happy for him, but also kinda bummed. After that, I decide to take a walk. I head down to the old castle ruins on the outskirts. It’s quiet there, and I can finally breathe. I sit on a bench, sketching the view. The hills are rolling, and the sunset is killer. I’m feeling all the feels. But then, I hear shouting. I look up, and there’s this group of kids playing soccer. They’re running around, and one of them kicks the ball right at me! It hits my sketchbook! I’m like, “Seriously?!” But then they all come over, laughing and apologizing. I can’t help but laugh too. Kids are wild, man. As the sun sets, I head back home, feeling a mix of emotions. Rignano-Flaminio, you’re a rollercoaster! From coffee spills to old friends, to soccer balls and sunsets. I love this place, even when it drives me nuts. So yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Rignano-Flaminio. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
