Man, what a day! I swear, being a tractor driver in Rio-Saliceto is like riding a rollercoaster, but without the safety bar. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit the road on Via Roma. You know, the main drag. Traffic was a mess! Like, come on, people! It’s not a parking lot! I’m sittin’ there, tractor rumbling, and I see this dude on a scooter zoom past me. I’m like, “Bro, you’re gonna end up in a tree!” But whatever, I just keep chugging along. Then I get to the market on Piazza della Libertà. Man, that place is always buzzing! I’m tryin’ to park my beast of a tractor, and this old lady with a cart full of veggies is givin’ me the stink eye. Like, lady, I’m not tryin’ to steal your spot! I finally squeeze in, and she mutters something in Italian. I just smile and nod. Classic move, right? So, I’m unloading some stuff, and outta nowhere, this kid runs up to me. He’s like, “Mister, can I ride your tractor?” I’m thinkin’, “Sure, kid, but only if you promise not to crash it!” He hops on, and I’m feelin’ like a rockstar. The kid’s laughin’, and I’m grinnin’ ear to ear. That’s the kinda joy you can’t buy, ya know? But then, bam! My phone buzzes. It’s my boss. “Hey, we need you at Via Garibaldi ASAP!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m in the middle of a moment here!” But whatever, duty calls. I hop back in my tractor, and off I go, dodging potholes like they’re landmines. Seriously, the roads here are like a war zone. I get to Via Garibaldi, and it’s chaos. There’s a parade or somethin’! People everywhere, music blaring, and I’m just tryin’ to navigate my way through. I’m thinkin’, “This is not what I signed up for!” But then I see this guy in a giant chicken suit dancing. I can’t help but laugh. Like, who does that? Only in Rio-Saliceto, man. After the parade, I finally get to do my job. I’m movin’ dirt, and it’s hot as hell. I’m sweatin’ buckets, and I’m like, “Why do I do this again?” But then I remember the kid on my tractor, and it makes it all worth it. But wait, there’s more! I’m almost done when I hear this loud crash. I whip around, and some guy just backed his car into a lamppost. I’m like, “Dude, are you serious?” He gets out, looking all sheepish. I can’t help but chuckle. “Welcome to Rio-Saliceto, buddy!” Finally, I wrap up my day. I’m exhausted but happy. I drive back through the streets, and the sunset is gorgeous. The colors are poppin’, and I’m just vibin’. I think about how wild today was. From the market to the parade to the chicken guy, it’s never a dull moment here. So yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy, emotional ride in Rio-Saliceto. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
