Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a parachutist firefighter in Robbio is like riding a rollercoaster that’s on fire. Seriously, I woke up this morning, and the sun was shining over Via Roma. Thought it was gonna be chill. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. So, I’m sippin’ my espresso at that little café on Piazza della Libertà, right? Just me, my caffeine fix, and a couple of old dudes arguing about soccer. Classic Robbio. Then, boom! My radio crackles. “Fire in the industrial zone!” I nearly spit out my coffee. I mean, c’mon, it’s Robbio! We don’t have that many industrial zones. I gear up, heart racing. I’m thinkin’, “This is it! Time to jump!” I hop in the truck, and we zoom down Via Garibaldi. The streets are narrow, and I’m like, “Dude, watch out for that Vespa!” But the driver’s all, “I got this!” Yeah, right. We get to the site, and it’s chaos. Flames are licking the sky like they’re tryin’ to reach the clouds. I can see the smoke from Via Cavour. It’s wild! I strap on my parachute, and my buddy Marco is like, “You ready?” I’m like, “Ready as I’ll ever be!” I jump. The wind’s in my face, and I’m thinkin’, “This is insane!” I land on the roof of the factory, and it’s hot. Like, “I’m gonna roast a marshmallow on this roof” hot. I can see the fire below, and it’s like a scene from a movie. I’m feelin’ like a superhero, but also like, “What if I trip and fall?” I start dousing the flames, and it’s intense. I’m sweating buckets, and my brain’s racing. I’m thinkin’ about my mom’s lasagna and how I promised her I’d come over for dinner. But right now, I’m in Robbio, fighting fire. Then, outta nowhere, I hear a scream. I look over, and there’s this cat stuck on a ledge. I’m like, “Seriously? A cat?” But I can’t just leave it. So, I climb over, and I’m like, “C’mon, kitty! Don’t make this harder!” Finally, I grab it, and it’s all hissing and scratching. I’m like, “Chill, dude! I’m saving you!” I get back to the ground, and everyone’s cheering. I’m like, “It’s just a cat, people!” But they’re all acting like I just saved the world. I’m feelin’ kinda proud, not gonna lie. After the fire’s out, I’m exhausted. I head back to the café, and the old dudes are still there, still arguing. I sit down, and the barista, Lucia, hands me a free drink. “For the hero,” she says. I’m blushing, but I’m also like, “I just want my caffeine fix!” As I sip my drink, I can’t help but think about Robbio. It’s a small town, but it’s got heart. The streets, the people, the crazy moments. I love it here. Even when it’s chaotic, it’s home. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Robbio. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. Maybe I’ll just sleep in. Or maybe I’ll save another cat. Who knows?
