Man, what a day! I swear, being a cashier in Romano-di-Lombardia is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I roll into work at the supermarket on Via Roma, right? It’s a sunny morning, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First customer walks in. This dude, I swear, he’s got a cart full of stuff. Like, who needs 10 packs of pasta? We’re not in a zombie apocalypse, bro! Anyway, he’s fumbling around, and I’m just standing there, tapping my foot, thinking, “C’mon, man, I got places to be.” Finally, he pays with coins. COINS! I’m counting them like I’m in a math class I never signed up for. Then, outta nowhere, this lady storms in. She’s got a baby in one arm and a shopping list in the other. She’s yelling about how the milk is expired. I’m like, “Lady, I don’t control the dairy section!” But she’s not having it. She’s ranting about how Romano-di-Lombardia has the worst milk. I mean, c’mon, it’s not like we’re in the middle of nowhere. We got the best cheese, the best everything! So, I finally get a break. I step outside for a sec, just to breathe. The sun’s shining on Via Garibaldi, and I see the old church in the distance. It’s beautiful, man. But then, I hear this loud honking. Some guy in a tiny car is stuck in traffic, and he’s losing it. I’m talking full-on road rage. I can’t help but laugh. Like, dude, chill! It’s just Romano-di-Lombardia traffic. Back inside, things get crazier. A group of tourists comes in, and they’re all lost. They’re asking me where to find the best gelato. I’m like, “You’re in the right place, but I can’t help you with directions!” They look at me like I’m the gelato guru or something. I just point to the door and say, “Go left, then right, and you’ll find it.” Then, this one guy, he’s got a huge bag of chips. He drops it, and it explodes everywhere. Chips flying like confetti! I’m laughing so hard, I almost forget to scan the next customer. I mean, who knew a bag of chips could cause such chaos? By the time I’m nearing the end of my shift, I’m exhausted. But then, this sweet old lady comes up to me. She’s got a smile that could light up the whole of Romano-di-Lombardia. She hands me a piece of homemade cake. I’m like, “Wow, thanks!” It’s the best thing ever. I mean, after all the craziness, this is what I needed. Finally, I clock out. I step outside, and the sun is setting over the hills. It’s beautiful. I walk down Via Roma, thinking about how wild today was. I mean, who knew being a cashier could be so intense? But hey, that’s life in Romano-di-Lombardia for ya. Full of surprises, chaos, and a little bit of sweetness. I can’t wait to tell my friends about this. They won’t believe me! But that’s just another day in the life, right?
