Man, what a day! I swear, being a shepherd in Sala-Consilina ain't for the faint-hearted. Woke up early, like usual, sun barely peekin’ over the mountains. You know, the ones that hug the town like a cozy blanket? Yeah, those. So, I’m out there, just me and my sheep, chillin’ by Via Roma. It’s a nice street, kinda busy, but I like it. People rushin’ by, cars honkin’, and I’m just there, tryin’ to keep my flock in line. But then, bam! A sheep decides it’s time to play hide and seek. Seriously? Right in the middle of the street! I’m yellin’, “Hey! Get back here!” like it’s some kinda sheep rodeo. Finally catch the little rascal, but not before I get a few weird looks from the locals. You know how it is. They probably think I’m some kinda crazy shepherd. Whatever, man. I’m just tryin’ to do my job. Then, I head over to Piazza San Giovanni. Man, that place is always buzzing! Street vendors, kids runnin’ around, and the smell of fresh pizza in the air. I’m talkin’ legit pizza, not that frozen stuff. So, I grab a slice. Best decision ever! I mean, who can resist a good margherita? But then, outta nowhere, I see this guy. He’s got a goat. A freakin’ goat! And it’s just munchin’ on some poor lady’s flowers. I’m like, “Dude, control your goat!” But he just shrugs. I’m thinkin’, “What’s next? A llama?” After that, I decide to take a stroll down Via Nazionale. It’s a bit quieter, but still got that charm. Old buildings, narrow streets, and the occasional cat loungin’ in the sun. I love that vibe. But then, I trip over a cobblestone. Classic me, right? Almost face-planted! So, I’m laughin’ it off, but then I see this old man. He’s sittin’ on a bench, lookin’ all wise and stuff. I go up to him, and he starts tellin’ me stories about the town. Like, did you know Sala-Consilina used to be a big deal back in the day? Yeah, it was a hub for trade and all that jazz. I’m just noddin’ along, but inside I’m thinkin’, “Man, I just wanna get back to my sheep.” But then, he says somethin’ that hits me. He talks about how the town’s changed. How it used to be full of life, and now it’s kinda quiet. I get it. I mean, I love my sheep, but I also love the energy of the town. It’s like, where’s the balance? Anyway, I finally make my way back to the fields. But guess what? My sheep are gone again! I’m like, “Seriously?!” I run around, lookin’ like a madman. Turns out, they found a nice patch of grass by the old church. Typical! By the time I get them back, it’s sunset. The sky’s all orange and pink, and I can’t help but smile. It’s beautiful, ya know? Makes all the craziness worth it. So, I sit there, watchin’ the sun dip behind the mountains. And I think, “This is home.” Even with the wild days, the goats, and the trippin’ over cobblestones. Sala-Consilina, you got my heart. But man, tomorrow? I’m sleepin’ in. No more sheep rodeos for me!
