Man, what a day! I swear, Salzano really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Not even close. First off, I’m heading down Via Roma, and I’m already late. Classic me. I’m a shearer, not a clock-watcher. Anyway, I’m hustling, dodging old folks and their dogs. Seriously, why do they walk so slow? Like, c’mon, I got sheep to shear! So, I finally get to the sheep farm on Via San Giovanni. It’s a small place, but the owner, Marco, is a legend. He’s got this wild beard and always cracks jokes. “You ready to make some wooly magic?” he says. I laugh, but inside I’m like, “Dude, I just wanna shear and go home.” But then, bam! The sheep are all riled up. I mean, they’re bouncing around like they just drank a gallon of espresso. I’m trying to catch one, and it’s like a scene from a cartoon. I’m slipping, sliding, and I swear I almost face-planted in the mud. Not my finest moment, let me tell ya. After finally wrangling those fluffy beasts, I’m sweating like a pig. And then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I’m talking torrential downpour. I’m soaked, my shears are rusting, and I’m just standing there like, “Really, Salzano? Really?” But then, something cool happens. I’m under this old tree on Via della Libertà, trying to stay dry, and I see this little kid with a paper boat. He’s racing it in a puddle, laughing his head off. I can’t help but smile. Kids have this magic, ya know? They find joy in the simplest things. So, I finish up with the sheep, and I’m heading back home, drenched but kinda happy. I take a detour through the park on Via dei Fiori. It’s usually peaceful, but today? It’s a full-on festival! There’s music, food stalls, and people dancing. I’m like, “What the heck? Did I miss an invite?” I grab a slice of pizza from this stand. Best pizza ever! I mean, it’s Salzano, so you know it’s legit. I’m munching away, and this guy next to me starts chatting. Turns out, he’s a local artist. He’s painting this wild mural on a wall nearby. I’m all about supporting local talent, so I’m like, “Dude, that’s sick!” But then, just as I’m getting into it, my phone buzzes. It’s Marco. “Hey, we need you back! Sheep are escaping!” I’m like, “Are you kidding me?” I sprint back, dodging people and puddles. When I get there, it’s chaos. Sheep everywhere! I’m yelling, “Get back here, you woolly maniacs!” It’s a full-on sheep stampede. I’m running, trying to corral them, and I’m just thinking, “This is NOT what I signed up for.” Finally, after what feels like an eternity, I manage to get them back in. I’m panting, covered in mud, and I just wanna collapse. But Marco’s there, laughing. “You’re a hero, man!” I can’t help but chuckle. So, I head home, exhausted but with a wild story. Salzano, you crazy little town, you never fail to surprise me. I love it here, even when it drives me nuts. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
