Man, what a day! I woke up in San-Colombano-al-Lambro, ready to tackle some carpentry. You know, just another day in this little gem of a town. I mean, who wouldn’t love the charm of Via Roma? It’s like stepping back in time, but with Wi-Fi, ya know? So, I grab my tools and head out. The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinking, “Today’s gonna be a good one.” But then, bam! I step in a puddle right outside my door on Via Garibaldi. Seriously? Who left that there? I’m soaked, and it’s not even 8 AM. Great start, right? I get to the job site, and it’s a mess. The client, this old dude named Giovanni, is pacing like a caged lion. He’s all like, “I need this done by noon!” Dude, it’s 9! I’m a carpenter, not a magician! But whatever, I roll up my sleeves and get to work. I’m cutting wood, hammering nails, and trying to ignore the fact that Giovanni keeps hovering over me like a hawk. I mean, chill, man! It’s not like I’m gonna turn your living room into a disaster zone. But then, I accidentally drop a plank. It lands right on his foot. Oops! He yelps like a puppy, and I can’t help but laugh. “Guess you won’t be dancing anytime soon, huh?” I say. He’s not amused. After that little mishap, I decide to take a break. I stroll down to the local café on Via Mazzini. Best espresso in town, hands down. I grab a cup and sit outside, soaking in the vibe. The locals are chatting, kids are playing, and I’m just enjoying life. Then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, and I swear he’s got a gelato bigger than his head. I mean, how does that even happen? Back to work, I’m feeling good. I’m nailing it—literally. But then, the clouds roll in. Of course, it starts pouring. I’m like, “Really, San-Colombano? You couldn’t hold off for a few hours?” I scramble to cover the wood, but it’s too late. Everything’s soaked. I’m fuming. I head back to Giovanni, who’s now looking at me like I’m the worst carpenter ever. “This is unacceptable!” he says. I’m about to lose it. “Dude, I’m not controlling the weather!” But I keep my cool. I mean, I need to get paid, right? Finally, the rain stops, and I get back to it. I’m hammering away, and then, boom! I hit my thumb. Ouch! I let out a string of curses that would make a sailor blush. Giovanni just shakes his head. “You should be more careful.” Yeah, thanks for the tip, buddy. By the time I finish, it’s late afternoon. I’m exhausted, but I’m proud of what I’ve done. Giovanni finally cracks a smile. “Not bad, kid.” I’m like, “Kid? I’m 35!” But whatever, I’ll take the compliment. As I pack up, I can’t help but think about how crazy today was. From puddles to planks, and a foot injury to gelato, San-Colombano-al-Lambro never fails to surprise me. I head home, ready to kick back and relax. Tomorrow’s another day, and who knows what it’ll bring? But for now, I’m just glad to be done. So, that was my day. Just another wild ride in this quirky little town. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow has in store!
