Man, what a day! I woke up in San-Paolo-di-Civitate, and let me tell ya, this place is a trip. It’s like a postcard from Italy but with a twist. The streets are all cobblestone, and you can smell the fresh bread from the bakery on Via Roma. I mean, who doesn’t love carbs, right? So, I roll outta bed, grab a quick espresso (because, duh, I need my fuel), and head out. The sun’s shining, and I’m feeling good. But then, bam! I step on a piece of gum. Like, seriously? Who even chews gum here? I’m stuck, and it’s like the universe is laughing at me. I finally get free, but my shoe’s a mess. Great start, huh? I decide to stroll down Corso Vittorio Emanuele. It’s packed with people, tourists snapping pics, locals chatting. I see this old guy selling gelato. I mean, it’s like 10 AM, but who cares? I grab a cone of pistachio. Best decision ever! I’m walking, licking my gelato, feeling like a king. Then, outta nowhere, this kid runs past me, and I spill half my gelato. Ugh! I’m like, “C’mon, kid! Watch where you’re going!” But he just laughs and keeps running. Kids, man. Next, I hit up the Piazza della Libertà. It’s beautiful, with that fountain in the middle. I sit on a bench, just chillin’, when this street performer starts playing the accordion. It’s kinda magical, ya know? I’m vibin’ to the music, and suddenly, this couple starts dancing. Like, full-on tango in the square! I’m clapping, laughing, and thinking, “This is life!” But then, my phone buzzes. Work stuff. Ugh. I’m a graphic designer, and my boss is like, “We need those designs ASAP!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m in Italy!” But whatever, I pull out my laptop right there. I’m trying to focus, but the music’s too good. I’m torn between work and enjoying life. After that, I decide to hit up the local market on Via Garibaldi. Fresh produce everywhere! I grab some tomatoes, basil, and a bottle of olive oil. I’m feeling all chef-y. But then, I see this guy trying to haggle over a lemon. Like, c’mon, it’s a lemon, not gold! I can’t help but laugh. Then, I head to the church, Chiesa di San Paolo. It’s stunning inside. I’m just standing there, soaking it all in, when this lady starts talking to me about the history. She’s super passionate, and I’m like, “Wow, I didn’t know that!” It’s cool to learn about the place, but I’m also thinking about my gelato disaster. Finally, I’m ready to wind down. I hit up a little trattoria on Via della Repubblica. The pasta? To die for! I’m slurping it up, and the waiter’s cracking jokes. I’m laughing so hard, I almost choke. It’s one of those nights where everything feels right. But then, as I’m leaving, I realize I left my bag at the table. Panic mode activated! I rush back, and thank goodness, it’s still there. I’m sweating bullets, but I’m relieved. As I walk back to my place, I can’t help but think about how crazy today was. From gum on my shoe to dancing in the square, it was a rollercoaster. San-Paolo-di-Civitate, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
