Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in my tiny apartment on Via Roma, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m a dental tech, so my day usually involves making teeth. Sounds boring, right? But today? Oh boy. I get to the lab on Via San Rocco, and it’s like a scene from a horror movie. My coworker, Marco, spills a whole batch of plaster everywhere. I mean, everywhere! It’s like a dental disaster zone. I’m standing there, mouth agape, thinking, “Dude, how do you even manage that?” So, I’m cleaning up this mess, and I’m already sweating bullets. Then, I get a call from a client. She’s freaking out because her crown doesn’t fit. I’m like, “Lady, it’s not my fault you ate a whole pizza before coming in!” But I can’t say that, right? Gotta keep it professional. So, I’m trying to calm her down while dodging plaster chunks. After that, I decide to take a breather. I stroll down to Piazza della Libertà. It’s this cute little square with cafes and all. I grab a coffee from my fave spot, Bar Centrale. The barista, Lucia, knows my order by heart. I’m like, “Just a cappuccino, please.” She winks and says, “You need it after today!” I laugh, but inside, I’m like, “You have no idea.” Then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, monsoon-level rain. I’m stuck in the square, drenched, and I see this old guy on Via Cavour selling umbrellas. I run over, but of course, he’s out of stock. I’m standing there, soaked to the bone, thinking, “Great, just great.” Finally, I make a break for it back to the lab. I’m dodging puddles like I’m in some kind of Olympic event. I get back, and guess what? The power goes out. Just my luck, right? I’m in the dark, surrounded by dental tools, and I can’t even see my hand in front of my face. I’m like, “Is this a horror movie or what?” So, I’m sitting there, trying to figure out what to do. I pull out my phone, and it’s dead. Of course! I’m about to lose it. But then, my buddy Luca shows up. He’s got a portable charger and a flashlight. I’m like, “Dude, you’re a lifesaver!” We end up cracking jokes in the dark, making fun of how we’re basically trapped in a dental dungeon. After what feels like forever, the power comes back. I’m so relieved! But then, I remember the client with the crown. I rush to fix it, and guess what? It fits perfectly! She’s over the moon, and I’m like, “See? I told ya I got skills!” By the end of the day, I’m exhausted but happy. I walk home through Via della Libertà, the streets all glistening from the rain. I can’t help but smile. San-Pietro-in-Cariano, you crazy little town, you never fail to surprise me. I flop onto my couch, thinking about how wild today was. I mean, who knew a day in the life of a dental tech could be so... dramatic? I guess that’s just how it goes sometimes. Cheers to tomorrow being a little less chaotic!
