Man, what a day! I swear, San-Pietro-Vernotico is a wild ride. I woke up thinking it’d be just another boring day installing radio gear. Boy, was I wrong! First off, I hit the road on Via Roma. Traffic was a mess. Like, come on! It’s a Tuesday, not a parade day! I’m sittin’ there, honkin’ my horn like a maniac. Finally, I get to the job site on Via San Giovanni. It’s a small café, super cute, but the owner? Total diva! So, I’m unpacking my gear, right? And this lady comes storming in. She’s like, “Where’s my Wi-Fi?!” I’m like, “Lady, chill! I just got here!” But she’s not having it. Turns out, her customers were livin’ for the internet. I mean, who doesn’t want to scroll through Instagram while sipping a cappuccino? I get to work, and the café’s packed. I’m sweating bullets, trying to connect this router. And then, boom! The power goes out. Just my luck! I’m standing there in the dark, and the customers start freaking out. I’m like, “Guys, it’s just a little blackout!” But they act like it’s the end of the world. Finally, the lights flicker back on. I’m back to work, and guess what? I accidentally drop my screwdriver. It rolls under a table, and I’m crawling on the floor like a dog. I swear, I could hear someone snickering. I pop up, red-faced, and the café owner is just staring at me. I’m like, “What? You never seen a pro at work?” After that chaos, I finally get the Wi-Fi up and running. The customers cheer like I just scored a goal in the World Cup. I’m feeling like a rockstar! But then, the owner wants me to set up a speaker system for her “ambiance.” I’m like, “Lady, I’m not a DJ!” But she insists. So, I’m fiddling with these speakers, and I accidentally blast some old-school Italian pop music. The whole café goes silent. I’m mortified! But then, the customers start dancing! I’m standing there, thinking, “What the heck is happening?” It turned into a mini dance party! After the gig, I’m walking down Via Vittorio Emanuele, still buzzing from the craziness. I stop by this gelato place. Best gelato ever! I grab a cone, and as I’m licking it, I see this old guy on a bench. He’s got a parrot on his shoulder. I’m like, “Dude, that’s awesome!” He just nods, like it’s no big deal. Then, I head to the park, Parco della Rimembranza. It’s beautiful, man. I sit on a bench, enjoying my gelato, and just soak it all in. The sun’s setting, and the sky is all pink and orange. I think about how crazy today was. From the diva café owner to the dance party, it was a rollercoaster. But you know what? That’s San-Pietro-Vernotico for ya. It’s full of surprises. You think you’re just gonna install some gear, and then bam! You’re a part of a dance party. I love this place, even with all its quirks. So, I head home, exhausted but happy. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. Maybe I’ll run into that parrot guy again. Who knows? Life’s a trip, especially in this little corner of Italy.
