Man, what a day! Seriously, Sannicandro-di-Bari, you wild! I woke up thinking it’d be chill, ya know? Just me, my sketchbook, and some coffee. But nah, the universe had other plans. So, I’m strolling down Via Roma, right? Just vibin’ to my tunes, when BAM! A pigeon swoops down like it’s on a mission. I swear, it almost took my eye out! Like, dude, chill! I’m not your lunch! Anyway, I finally get to my fave café, Bar Pasticceria, for a cornetto. Best in town, no cap. I’m all excited, but the line is like a mile long. Ugh! I’m standing there, tapping my foot, thinking about how I could’ve animated a whole short film in this time. Finally, I get my pastry, and it’s heavenly! Flaky, sweet, just the right amount of cream. I’m in heaven, but then I spill coffee all over my sketchbook. NOOO! My doodles are ruined! I’m about to lose it. But then, I see this street performer on Via Giuseppe Mazzini. He’s playing the accordion like a boss! I can’t help but smile. His energy is contagious. I toss him a couple of euros, and he gives me a wink. Like, yeah, buddy, you made my day! So, I’m feeling good again, right? I decide to hit up the old castle, Castello Normanno-Svevo. It’s this cool medieval vibe, and I’m all about that history. I’m sketching away, lost in my world, when this group of tourists rolls up. They’re loud, taking selfies, and I’m like, “Dude, can’t a guy draw in peace?” But then, one of them asks me to draw them. I’m like, “Sure, why not?” I whip out my pencils, and they’re all giggling. I’m cracking jokes, and suddenly, I’m the star of the show. It’s wild! After that, I’m feeling like a rockstar. I head down to Piazza della Libertà. It’s buzzing with life. Kids are playing, old folks are chatting, and I’m just soaking it all in. I grab a gelato from this little shop, Gelateria da Michele. Best gelato ever! I go for pistachio, obvi. But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, heavy rain! I’m sprinting for cover, dodging puddles like I’m in some action movie. I duck into a little shop on Via San Francesco. It’s a cute place, full of handmade stuff. I’m browsing, and the owner starts chatting me up. She’s super nice, and we bond over art. But then, I see this weird statue in the corner. It’s a giant chicken. I’m like, “What’s up with that?” She laughs and tells me it’s a local tradition. Apparently, it’s supposed to bring good luck. I’m like, “I need that luck!” Finally, the rain stops, and I’m back on the streets. I’m feeling all kinds of emotions. Happy, frustrated, surprised. Sannicandro-di-Bari, you’re a rollercoaster! I end my day at a little trattoria, Trattoria da Nonna. I order orecchiette, and it’s like a hug in a bowl. I’m just sitting there, thinking about how crazy today was. I mean, from dodging pigeons to making new friends, it’s all part of the adventure, right? As I walk home, I can’t help but smile. Sannicandro-di-Bari, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait for tomorrow!
