Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a clergyman in Santa-Caterina-Villarmosa is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I head down Via Roma. Love that street. It’s got this vibe, ya know? Old buildings, little cafes, and the smell of fresh bread wafting through the air. I stop by my fave bakery, Panificio di Santa Caterina. Grab a cornetto, and boom! I’m feelin’ like a king. But then, I spill coffee all over my shirt. Classic me, right? So, I’m walkin’ to the church, dodging tourists and their selfie sticks. Seriously, how many pics do you need of the Chiesa Madre? It’s beautiful, don’t get me wrong, but c’mon! Anyway, I finally get to the church, and there’s a line. A long one. Like, what’s the deal? Turns out, it’s a wedding. And guess who’s officiating? Yep, yours truly. I’m tryin’ to keep it together, but the bride is late. Like, really late. I’m sweating bullets, thinkin’ I’m gonna have to start the ceremony without her. But then, she shows up, and wow, she’s stunning. I mean, I’m a clergyman, but even I can appreciate a good dress. The ceremony goes off without a hitch. I’m crackin’ jokes, makin’ everyone laugh. “Love is like a good pasta—sometimes it gets a little saucy!” They loved it! But then, right after the vows, the groom’s uncle trips over a chair and spills red wine everywhere. I’m talkin’ a full-on crime scene. I’m tryin’ to keep a straight face, but inside, I’m dying. After the wedding, I head over to Piazza della Libertà. It’s my favorite spot. The fountain’s gurgling, kids are playin’, and I’m just chillin’. But then, I see this guy trying to sell fake designer bags. I mean, c’mon, dude! In Santa-Caterina? Really? I’m all for entrepreneurship, but let’s keep it legit, ya know? Then, I bump into Maria, the local florist. She’s got this wild energy. “Father! You gotta try my new flowers!” she says. I’m like, “Sure, why not?” She hands me a bouquet of the brightest sunflowers. I’m feelin’ all warm and fuzzy inside. But then, I remember I’m supposed to be a serious clergyman. So, I’m like, “Thanks, Maria, but I can’t be walkin’ around with flowers!” Later, I head back to the church. I’m exhausted, but there’s a knock on the door. It’s a kid, maybe 10 years old. He’s got this worried look. “Father, my dog is lost!” My heart sinks. I can’t just ignore him. So, I grab my keys and we head out. We search all over Santa-Caterina. Down Via Garibaldi, past the old market, and even by the train station. No luck. I’m startin’ to feel like a failure. But then, we hear barking. It’s his dog! I swear, I’ve never seen a kid so happy. He hugs me, and I’m like, “Dude, I just helped you find your dog. You don’t need to hug me!” But it felt good, ya know? Finally, I get home. I’m beat. I flop on the couch, thinkin’ about the day. It was wild, emotional, and full of surprises. Santa-Caterina-Villarmosa, you never cease to amaze me. I wouldn’t trade this crazy life for anything. Well, maybe a nap. But that’s it!
