Wow, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in Santa-Maria-degli-Angeli, right? The sun was shining, birds chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I had to rush to the office on Via del Lavoro. I mean, who doesn’t love a little morning chaos? I spilled coffee all over my favorite shirt. Classic me, right? I was like, “Great, now I look like a walking espresso.” But whatever, I just threw on a jacket and hoped no one would notice. So, I get to the office, and my boss, Mr. Rossi, is already in a mood. He’s pacing like a caged lion. Apparently, there was a mix-up with the meeting room bookings. We were supposed to meet some bigwigs from Perugia, and guess what? They were in the wrong place! I mean, come on, how hard is it to read a sign? I had to run down to Piazza Garibaldi to find them. It’s a beautiful square, but I was too stressed to appreciate it. I was dodging tourists and their selfie sticks like I was in some kind of obstacle course. Finally, I found them at a café, sipping cappuccinos like they owned the place. I was like, “Hey, guys! Meeting’s over here!” They looked at me like I was crazy. Ugh, so embarrassing. After that, we finally got to the meeting. It was all good until Mr. Rossi started talking about budget cuts. My heart sank. I mean, who wants to hear about budget cuts? Not me! I was ready to throw my pen at the wall. But then, one of the Perugia guys made a joke about pasta, and suddenly everyone was laughing. I guess humor really does save the day sometimes. Then, during lunch, I decided to treat myself to some gelato at Gelateria La Dolce Vita. Best decision ever! I got stracciatella and pistachio. OMG, it was heavenly. I was in my own little world, just enjoying life. But then, I saw a pigeon eyeing my gelato. I swear, that bird was plotting something. I shooed it away, but it just stared at me like, “You think you can eat that in peace?” After lunch, I had to run to the post office on Via della Repubblica. I was in a hurry, and of course, there was a line. Like, why is there always a line? I was tapping my foot, getting more and more impatient. Finally, I got to the counter, and the lady was super nice. She even complimented my jacket! I was like, “Thanks, but I spilled coffee on it.” She laughed, and for a moment, I forgot about the stress. But then, as I was leaving, I tripped on the cobblestones. Classic Santa-Maria-degli-Angeli, right? I fell, and my papers went flying everywhere. I was mortified. People were staring. I wanted to crawl into a hole. But then, a sweet old lady helped me pick up my stuff. She was like, “Don’t worry, dear. It happens to the best of us.” I smiled, feeling a bit better. By the end of the day, I was exhausted. I walked back through the streets, taking in the sights. The Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli was stunning as always. I thought about how lucky I am to work in such a beautiful place, even if the day was a rollercoaster. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, laughter and chaos. I guess that’s life in Santa-Maria-degli-Angeli for ya! Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. Hopefully, less coffee spills and more gelato!
