Wow, what a day in Sarno! Seriously, where do I even start? I woke up thinking it’d be just another boring day, but boy, was I wrong. First off, I’m a Visiting Prof, right? So I’m supposed to be all smart and stuff. But I got lost. Like, really lost. I was trying to find Via Roma, but ended up on some random street. I swear, the GPS was playing tricks on me. I mean, c’mon, Sarno isn’t that big! But there I was, wandering around like a lost puppy. Finally, I found my way to the university. It’s this cool old building, kinda rustic, you know? But the vibe is awesome. The students are super chill. They were all buzzing about some local festival. I thought, “Great, let’s add some chaos to my day!” So, I’m in class, right? And I’m trying to teach about, I dunno, something smart like “Cultural Influences on Modern Education.” But half the class is glued to their phones, checking out the festival updates. I mean, I get it. Who wouldn’t wanna be at a festival instead of listening to me ramble? Then, outta nowhere, a student shouts, “Prof! They’re throwing confetti at the piazza!” I’m like, “What?!” So, I just said, “Class dismissed!” and bolted outta there. I mean, who can resist confetti? I rush to Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, and it’s a total scene. People everywhere, music blasting, food stalls lining the streets. I’m talking about the best pizza I’ve ever had. Like, I could’ve eaten a whole pie by myself. And the gelato? Don’t even get me started. I had this wild flavor—fig and honey. It was like a party in my mouth. But then, I got a bit too excited. I was dancing, trying to blend in with the locals. Big mistake. I tripped over my own feet and landed right in front of this old dude. He just looked at me, shook his head, and muttered something in Italian. I laughed it off, but inside, I was like, “Dude, I’m just trying to enjoy Sarno!” After that, I decided to explore more. I wandered down Via San Matteo, and it was so picturesque. The buildings are all colorful, and there’s this charming little café. I grabbed an espresso, and let me tell you, it was like liquid energy. I felt like I could conquer the world—or at least the rest of Sarno. But then, I got a bit too adventurous. I thought, “Hey, let’s check out the Sarno River!” So, I followed the signs, but somehow ended up on a dirt path. I was like, “Where am I? This isn’t a river; it’s a jungle!” I was half-expecting a bear to pop out. Finally, I found the river, and it was beautiful. The sun was setting, casting this golden glow. I sat there for a bit, just soaking it all in. It was one of those moments where you realize how lucky you are. But then, I got bitten by a mosquito. Ugh! I was like, “Really, Sarno? You had to ruin my moment?” As the day wrapped up, I headed back to my hotel. I was exhausted but happy. Sarno had thrown me a curveball, and I loved every second of it. I mean, who knew a little town could pack so much into one day? So, yeah, that was my wild day in Sarno. I laughed, I tripped, I ate way too much, and I even got a little lost. But hey, that’s what makes life interesting, right? Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
