Man, what a day! I swear, being a tractor driver in Scafati is like riding a rollercoaster, but without the safety bar. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit the road on Via G. Marconi, and boom! Traffic jam. Like, seriously? In Scafati? I’m sittin’ there, engine rumbling, and I’m just fuming. I mean, c’mon, it’s not like we’re in Naples or somethin’. But nope, some dude in a tiny car decides to play bumper cars. I’m like, “Bro, you do realize I’m driving a tractor, right? You’re not winning this game!” Finally, I get past that mess and head towards the market on Via Roma. Man, the smells hit me like a freight train. Fresh bread, fruits, and oh, the pastries! I could’ve parked my tractor right there and just inhaled. But no time for that. Gotta keep movin’. So, I’m rollin’ through the market, and I see this old lady, Nonna Rosa, trying to cross the street. She’s got her shopping bags, and I’m thinkin’, “I can’t let her get squished!” So, I slow down, wave her on, and she gives me this big smile. That made my day, for real. Nonna Rosa’s the best. She always has the best stories about Scafati back in the day. But then, outta nowhere, this kid on a bike zooms past me. I swear, he almost took out my rear wheel! I’m yellin’, “Hey, watch it, kid!” But he just laughs and pedals away. I’m like, “Great, now I’m a tractor driver and a babysitter.” After that, I head over to the vineyards near Via C. Colombo. Man, the views are insane! Rolling hills, grapes hangin’ like they’re ready for a party. I stop for a sec, take it all in. It’s moments like this that make the job worth it. But then, I hear this loud crash. I whip around, and some guy just knocked over a whole stack of crates. I’m like, “Dude, what are you doing? This ain’t a demolition derby!” So, I help him pick up the mess, and he’s all apologetic. I’m just glad it wasn’t my tractor that got hit. I mean, I love my baby, you know? She’s got character. Then, I decide to take a break at this little café on Via S. Antonio. Grabbed a coffee and a sfogliatella. Man, that pastry is life! I’m sittin’ there, enjoying my treat, when I overhear these guys talking about the local soccer team. They’re all hyped up about the next match. I’m like, “Yeah, Scafati’s got spirit!” But then they start arguing about who’s the best player. I’m just chuckling to myself. After my break, I get back to work. I’m driving down Via A. De Gasperi, and I see this street performer. He’s juggling and doing flips. I’m like, “Dude, you’re gonna break your neck!” But he’s got a crowd, and they’re loving it. I can’t help but smile. Scafati’s got talent, man. But then, the day takes a turn. I’m heading back to the yard, and I see this stray dog. Poor thing looks lost. I stop, and it just stares at me with those big eyes. I’m like, “C’mon, buddy, hop in!” So, I let him ride with me for a bit. He’s wagging his tail like he just won the lottery. Finally, I drop him off at the local shelter. They’re super grateful, and I’m feelin’ like a hero. But then, I get back to my tractor, and I realize I left my lunch in the cab. Ugh! I’m starving! So, I head home, exhausted but happy. Scafati, man. It’s wild, it’s beautiful, and it’s full of surprises. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Just another day in the life of a tractor driver, right?
