Man, what a day! Seriously, Selcetta is wild. I woke up thinking it’d be chill, ya know? Just another day in this little corner of Italy. But nah, the universe had other plans. So, I’m strolling down Via della Libertà, right? Just vibin’ with my coffee. It’s like 8 AM, and the sun’s shining. I’m feelin’ good. Then, boom! I trip over some random cobblestone. Like, who put that there? I’m pretty sure it was just waiting for me. I spill my coffee everywhere. Great start, huh? Anyway, I shake it off. I’m like, “Whatever, it’s just coffee.” But then I see this cute little café on the corner of Via Roma. I’m like, “Okay, let’s get a pastry.” I walk in, and the smell hits me. Fresh pastries everywhere! I grab a cornetto, and it’s heavenly. I’m munching away, and life’s good again. But then, I hear this loud argument outside. I peek out, and it’s two guys yelling about soccer. Like, come on, it’s just a game! One dude’s waving his arms like he’s conducting an orchestra. I can’t help but laugh. Italians and their soccer, man. It’s a whole vibe. After that, I decide to hit up the local market on Via dei Fiori. I love that place! Fresh veggies, fruits, and all the local stuff. I’m browsing, and I see this old lady selling tomatoes. She’s got the biggest smile, and I’m like, “Gimme those!” I buy a bunch, and she throws in a couple of extra ones. Sweet, right? But then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, torrential downpour. I’m soaked in seconds. I’m running for cover, dodging puddles like I’m in some weird obstacle course. I duck into a shop on Via della Repubblica. It’s a tiny bookstore, and I’m like, “Okay, I’ll wait it out.” I’m browsing the shelves, and I find this book about Selcetta’s history. I’m flipping through it, and it’s super interesting! Did you know Selcetta used to be a fishing village? Crazy! I’m getting lost in the pages when the rain finally stops. I step outside, and the sun’s back. It’s like a movie scene, all dramatic and stuff. I’m feeling good again. I decide to walk along the coast. The view from Lungomare is stunning! The waves crashing, the boats bobbing. I take a deep breath, and it’s like, “Yes! This is life!” But then, I see this seagull. And not just any seagull. This dude is bold. He swoops down and snatches my cornetto right outta my hand! I’m standing there, mouth agape, like, “Did that just happen?” I’m chasing after it, but it’s too late. That seagull is living its best life, and I’m left with nothing. I’m kinda mad now, but whatever. I keep walking, and I bump into some friends at a gelato shop. They’re all laughing, and I’m like, “You won’t believe my day!” We end up sharing stories, and it’s all good vibes again. As the sun sets, we’re sitting on the steps of the old church on Piazza della Libertà. The sky is painted in pinks and oranges. I’m feeling grateful, ya know? Selcetta may be chaotic, but it’s my chaos. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but that’s what makes it real. Selcetta, you crazy little town, I wouldn’t trade you for anything.
