Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a Watchman in Senigallia ain’t for the faint-hearted. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Via Garibaldi. I’m like, “Great, another scorcher.” But hey, it’s summer in Senigallia, so what do I expect? First thing, I grab my coffee from that little café on the corner, you know, the one with the best cornetti? Yeah, that one. I’m chattin’ with the barista, Marco. He’s always got some wild story. Today, he’s goin’ on about a seagull that stole his sandwich. I’m laughin’ so hard, I almost spill my espresso. Like, c’mon, Marco, it’s just a bird! Anyway, I head out to do my rounds. The beach is packed, like sardines in a can. Families everywhere, kids screamin’, and the smell of sunscreen fills the air. I’m walkin’ down Lungomare, tryin’ to keep my cool. But then, I see this dude, right? He’s tryin’ to impress some girl, doin’ backflips on the sand. Spoiler alert: he face-plants. I can’t help but laugh. Dude, you’re not a superhero! Then, I get a call on my radio. “Hey, Watchman! We got a situation at Piazza Garibaldi.” I’m like, “Great, what now?” I rush over, and there’s this old lady, bless her heart, tryin’ to sell her homemade pasta. But the cops are there, tellin’ her to pack it up. I’m fumin’. Like, c’mon, she’s just tryna make a living! I step in, do my thing. “Hey, guys, let her be. It’s Senigallia! We love our food!” They back off, and she’s so grateful. She hands me a plate of her gnocchi. Best thing I’ve ever tasted! I’m feelin’ like a hero for a sec. But then, I get a text from my buddy, Luca. “Dude, you gotta see this!” I’m like, “What now?” Turns out, there’s a flash mob at the Rocca Roveresca. I sprint over, and it’s wild! People dancin’, music blarin’. I join in, tryin’ to keep up. I’m not the best dancer, but who cares? It’s Senigallia! After the mob, I’m feelin’ pumped. But then, I see a couple fightin’ on Via Mazzini. Like, seriously? In public? I’m tryin’ to mediate, but they’re just yellin’. I’m like, “Guys, chill! You’re makin’ a scene!” They look at me like I’m crazy. I mean, I get it, love is complicated, but c’mon! Finally, I wrap up my shift. I’m exhausted but happy. I stroll back to the beach, watchin’ the sunset. The sky’s all orange and pink, and I’m thinkin’ about how crazy today was. Senigallia, man. It’s got its ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. As I head home, I can’t help but smile. Tomorrow’s another day, and who knows what’ll happen? Just another day in the life of a Watchman in this wild, beautiful city.
