Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a lifeguard in Sesto Calende is like riding a rollercoaster, but today? Today was a freakin’ wild ride. So, I roll up to the beach at Lago Maggiore, right? The sun’s blazin’, and I’m thinkin’, “This is gonna be chill.” But nah, not even close. First off, I’m settin’ up my stuff on Lungolago, and I see this kid, like, 10 years old, runnin’ around like a maniac. He’s got a water gun, and he’s sprayin’ everyone. I’m like, “Dude, chill! You’re gonna drown someone with that thing!” Then, outta nowhere, this lady starts yellin’ from the other side of the beach. She’s on Via Roma, and she’s lost her sunglasses. I mean, c’mon! It’s a beach, not a treasure hunt! I’m tryin’ to keep an eye on the water, but I can’t help but laugh. But then, things get serious. I spot a couple of teenagers jumpin’ off the rocks near the old bridge. Like, are they tryin’ to win a Darwin Award or what? I blow my whistle, and they look at me like I’m the bad guy. “Bro, it’s dangerous!” I shout. They roll their eyes and keep jumpin’. Ugh, kids these days! Later, I’m sittin’ on my lifeguard chair, tryin’ to catch a break, when this dude comes up to me. He’s like, “Hey man, can you help me with my floatie?” I’m thinkin’, “Seriously? You need help with a floatie?” But whatever, I’m a nice guy. So I go over, and it’s this giant flamingo. I’m like, “Dude, you’re gonna need a bigger boat!” Then, outta nowhere, I hear this loud splash. I turn, and there’s a dog swimmin’ like it’s the Olympics. I’m like, “What the heck? Is that a dog or a fish?” The owner’s freakin’ out, and I’m just laughin’. The dog’s havin’ the time of its life, and I’m like, “At least someone’s enjoyin’ today!” But then, the real drama hits. I see a girl struggling in the water. My heart drops. I sprint down the beach, and I’m yellin’, “Help! Someone call for help!” I dive in, and it’s like the water’s tryin’ to pull me under. I reach her just in time. She’s panicking, but I grab her and swim back. I’m like, “Breathe! You’re okay!” When we get to shore, everyone’s clappin’. I’m like, “Nah, man, just doin’ my job.” But inside, I’m feelin’ like a hero. After that, I need a breather. I grab a gelato from that little shop on Via Cavour. Best gelato ever, by the way. I’m sittin’ there, thinkin’ about how crazy today was. Sesto Calende is beautiful, but man, it can be a handful. As the sun sets, I’m packin’ up. I see the lights on the old buildings reflectin’ on the water. It’s peaceful, ya know? I think about all the wild stuff that happened today. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Just another day in Sesto Calende, where the sun shines, the water’s wild, and lifeguards like me gotta keep it real. Can’t wait for tomorrow!
