Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a butcher in Sora is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s barely up, and I’m already thinkin’ about the fresh cuts I gotta prep. Sora’s a small town, but it’s got its quirks. You know, like the way Via Roma smells in the morning—like fresh bread and, uh, something else. I get to the shop, and it’s already buzzing. My buddy Marco’s there, chattin’ up the customers. He’s always tryin’ to sell ‘em the “best” cuts. I mean, c’mon, Marco, they’re all good! Anyway, I’m slicing away, and this lady comes in. She’s all frantic, like she just saw a ghost or somethin’. Turns out, she lost her dog on Via Garibaldi. I’m like, “Lady, I’m a butcher, not a dog whisperer!” But I feel for her, ya know? So, I give her a free sausage. Figured it might cheer her up. Then, outta nowhere, this dude barges in. He’s got a wild look in his eyes. I swear, he looked like he just ran a marathon. He’s shoutin’ about some festival on Piazza della Libertà. Apparently, they’re havin’ a meat-eating contest. I’m like, “Dude, I’m in! But only if I can judge!” So, I finish up my shift, and I’m off to the piazza. The vibe is electric! People everywhere, music blaring, and the smell of grilled meat wafting through the air. I’m drooling, man. I grab a plate of arrosticini, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. I’m munchin’ away, and I see that lady from earlier. She’s got her dog back! Turns out, it was just chillin’ at the café on Via Mazzini. I’m like, “What a relief!” But then, bam! Outta nowhere, this guy trips over a cooler. Meat goes flying everywhere! I’m talkin’ steaks, sausages, you name it. It’s like a meat explosion! I’m laughin’ so hard, I almost choke on my food. The crowd goes wild, and we all start pickin’ up the pieces. It’s chaos, but it’s the good kind. Later, I’m sittin’ on the steps of the church, just takin’ it all in. Sora’s got this charm, ya know? The cobblestone streets, the old buildings, and the people. Everyone’s so friendly, even if they’re a bit quirky. I think about how lucky I am to work here. Sure, I deal with blood and guts, but it’s my blood and guts, ya know? As the sun sets, I head back home. I’m exhausted but happy. I think about tomorrow. More meat, more customers, and who knows what else? Sora’s full of surprises. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Sora. Can’t wait for the next one!
