Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a parachutist firefighter in Stella is like riding a rollercoaster that’s on fire. Seriously, I woke up this morning, sun shining, birds chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. So, I’m at the station on Via Roma, right? Just sippin’ my coffee, scrolling through my phone, when the alarm goes off. My heart drops. It’s that familiar sound—like a cat screeching at 3 AM. We got a call about a fire on Via Garibaldi. I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” We gear up, and I’m feelin’ pumped. I mean, who wouldn’t wanna jump outta a plane into a burning building? But then, I remember my last jump. Landed right in a puddle. Ugh, the embarrassment! Anyway, we hop in the truck, sirens blaring, and I’m trying to keep my cool. But inside, I’m like a shaken soda can. We get to the scene, and wow, it’s chaos. Flames shooting up like they’re auditioning for a movie. People are running around, yelling, and I’m just trying to focus. I spot a kid crying near the corner of Via Mazzini. My heart sinks. I rush over, kneel down, and say, “Hey, buddy, it’s gonna be okay.” But inside, I’m freaking out. What if I can’t save them all? So, I strap on my parachute. Yeah, I know it sounds wild, but trust me, it’s the best way to get to the roof. I jump, and the wind hits me like a freight train. I’m soaring over Stella, and for a split second, I feel like a superhero. But then I remember, “Dude, you’re not Superman. Focus!” I land on the roof of the building, and it’s hot. Like, “I’m gonna fry an egg on this pavement” hot. I can see the flames licking the walls, and I’m like, “This is NOT what I signed up for.” But I grab my gear and start spraying water like I’m at a water park. Suddenly, I hear a loud crash. My heart stops. I look over, and a piece of the roof just collapsed. I’m thinking, “Great, now I’m gonna be a headline: ‘Firefighter Squashed by Roof.’” But I keep going. I can’t let fear win. After what feels like forever, we finally get the fire under control. I’m drenched in sweat, and my heart’s racing. I look around, and people are cheering. It’s like a scene from a movie. I’m smiling, but inside, I’m still shaking. Then, outta nowhere, I see the kid from earlier. He runs up to me, eyes wide, and says, “You were awesome!” I can’t even describe how that felt. Like, all the stress just melted away. I’m like, “Thanks, little dude! You’re my hero too!” But then, just when I think it’s over, we get another call. A car accident on Via della Libertà. I’m like, “Are you kidding me? Can’t a guy catch a break?” But duty calls, right? So, we jump back in the truck, and I’m thinking about how Stella never sleeps. On the way, I’m just laughing to myself. Like, who else gets to do this? Sure, it’s crazy, but it’s my crazy. I love this city, with its narrow streets and vibrant life. Stella’s got a heartbeat, and I’m part of it. Finally, we get to the accident. It’s messy, but we do our thing. I’m feeling like a pro, but also like a hot mess. By the end of the day, I’m exhausted. I flop down on the couch, and all I can think is, “What a wild ride.” So yeah, that was my day in Stella. Full of ups and downs, but wouldn’t trade it for anything. Just another day in the life of a parachutist firefighter. Bring on tomorrow!
