Man, what a day! I swear, Surbo really knows how to throw a curveball. Woke up late, as usual. My alarm? Yeah, it decided to take a day off. So, I’m sprinting down Via Roma, dodging old ladies and stray cats. Seriously, those cats think they own the place. First stop? The café on Piazza della Libertà. Gotta get my caffeine fix, right? I order a cappuccino, and the barista, Marco, gives me that look. You know the one. Like, “You again?” But hey, I’m a regular! I’m practically family. Anyway, I spill half my drink on my shirt. Great start, huh? So, I’m walking down Via delle Vigne, feeling all sticky and annoyed. I’m thinking, “Why can’t I just have one normal day?” Then, bam! I bump into my buddy Luca. He’s all hyped about some street festival happening later. I’m like, “Dude, I just wanna survive today.” But he’s relentless. “C’mon, it’ll be fun!” Fine, I agree. But first, I gotta hit the market on Via San Giovanni. Fresh produce, you know? I’m there, and it’s chaos. People everywhere, shouting about tomatoes and cheese. I’m trying to grab some basil, and this old guy cuts in front of me. I’m like, “Really, dude? You’re gonna do me like that?” But whatever, I let it slide. After the market, I’m feeling a bit better. I head to the park, Parco della Rimembranza. It’s nice there, you know? Trees, birds, the whole vibe. I sit on a bench, just chillin’. Then, outta nowhere, a kid runs by, kicks a soccer ball, and it hits me right in the leg! I’m like, “What the heck, kid?” But he just laughs and runs off. Kids these days, man. Finally, it’s time for the festival. I meet up with Luca at the main square. It’s packed! Food stalls, music, people dancing. I’m feeling the energy. We grab some arancini, and I’m in heaven. But then, I see this guy trying to juggle fire. I’m thinking, “This can’t end well.” And guess what? He drops a torch! Fire everywhere! People are screaming, and I’m just standing there, mouth agape. After the fire fiasco, we hit the dance floor. I’m not a dancer, but who cares? I’m just vibing. The DJ drops some sick beats, and I’m losing it. Then, out of nowhere, I see this girl. She’s got the best smile. I’m trying to play it cool, but inside, I’m like, “Wow, she’s amazing.” We end up talking, and it’s like we’ve known each other forever. Her name’s Sofia, and she’s from Surbo too! We bond over our love for the city. She tells me about her favorite spots, like the old church on Via della Chiesa. I’m all ears. But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my mom. “Where are you?!” Ugh, classic. I’m like, “Chill, Mom! I’m at the festival!” But she’s not having it. “You better come home soon!” I roll my eyes. The night goes on, and I’m having the time of my life. But then, I see Luca trying to flirt with some girl. He’s making a fool of himself, and I can’t help but laugh. I mean, c’mon, Luca! As the festival winds down, I’m feeling a mix of emotions. Happy, tired, a bit overwhelmed. Surbo, you crazy city, you’ve done it again. I’m walking home, thinking about the day. The chaos, the laughter, the fire, and Sofia. What a ride! I can’t wait to do it all again. But maybe next time, I’ll set my alarm.
