Man, what a day! I swear, Terralba really knows how to throw a curveball. I woke up thinking it’d be just another boring Tuesday, ya know? But nah, the universe had other plans. So, I’m a biochemist, right? I work at this lab near Via Roma. Super chill place, but today? Ugh. I was running late, as usual. I sprinted down Via Garibaldi, dodging old ladies and stray cats. Seriously, those cats are like ninjas. One almost tripped me! Finally made it to the lab, and guess what? My experiment? Total disaster. I mixed up the samples. Like, how do you even do that? I was so mad at myself. I mean, I’ve got a PhD, and I’m messing with test tubes like a rookie. I could’ve sworn I heard my boss, Dr. Rossi, snickering in the corner. After that fiasco, I needed a break. So, I hit up the café on Piazza Martiri. Best coffee in town, no joke. I ordered a cappuccino, and the barista, Marco, he’s a legend. He knows my order by heart. I sat outside, soaking up the sun, trying to forget my lab blunder. But then, boom! A pigeon poops right next to me. Like, come on! Can’t a guy catch a break? But then, something cool happened. I met this girl, Sofia. She was sitting at the next table, reading a book. I couldn’t help but notice her. She had this vibe, ya know? We started chatting, and she’s into biochemistry too! What are the odds? We talked about everything—life, science, and how annoying pigeons are. I was grinning like an idiot. Then, outta nowhere, she invites me to this art exhibit at the old church on Via Cagliari. I was like, “Heck yeah!” I mean, who doesn’t love a good art show? So, we head over, and it’s packed. I’m talking people everywhere, like sardines in a can. The art was wild. Some pieces were just splashes of color, and I’m standing there pretending to understand it. I’m a biochemist, not Picasso! But Sofia was super into it, explaining everything. I was just nodding along, trying to look smart. But then, I see this one piece that looks like a giant blob of goo. I couldn’t help it. I blurted out, “Looks like my last experiment!” She laughed so hard, I thought she’d choke on her wine. That made my day. After the exhibit, we walked around the old town. The streets were lit up, and it felt magical. We strolled down Via Vittorio Emanuele, and I was just vibing. I mean, Terralba at night? It’s something else. The buildings, the lights, the energy. I was on cloud nine. But then, my phone buzzed. It was my lab partner, Luca. He was freaking out about the samples. Apparently, I messed up the whole batch. I felt my heart drop. I was like, “Dude, I’m out here living my best life!” But he didn’t care. He needed me back at the lab. I was torn. Do I go back and fix my mess? Or do I stay and enjoy this moment with Sofia? I chose Sofia. Sorry, lab! I mean, it’s not every day you meet someone who gets your nerdy side. We ended up at this little gelato place on Via Roma. I got pistachio, and she got stracciatella. We sat on the steps, eating gelato and laughing about my lab disaster. I felt so alive. But then, just when I thought the night couldn’t get better, I saw a shooting star. I made a wish. I wished for more days like this. More adventures, more laughs, and maybe a second date with Sofia. So yeah, Terralba, you crazy city. You turned my boring Tuesday into a rollercoaster of emotions. I went from angry to happy to surprised, all in one day. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
