Man, what a day! Tortona, you wild beast. I swear, I thought I was just gonna grab a coffee and chill. But nah, the universe had other plans. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping. I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” I hit up Via Emilia for my usual espresso. You know, the one that hits you like a freight train? Yeah, that one. I’m standing there, minding my biz, when BOOM! Some dude spills his cappuccino all over me. Like, seriously? I’m in a black shirt, bro! I’m fuming, but whatever. I laugh it off. Tortona’s streets are alive, man. People hustling on Corso Repubblica, cars honking like it’s a race. I love it. But then, I see this old lady trying to cross the street at Via Roma. She’s moving like molasses, and I’m like, “C’mon, lady, we got places to be!” But then I see her struggle, and my heart melts. I help her out, and she gives me this smile. Like, wow, that made my day. But then, outta nowhere, I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and it’s a scooter! Some guy just wiped out on Via XX Settembre. I rush over, and he’s fine, just a bit bruised. But his pride? Oof, that’s shattered. I can’t help but chuckle. “Dude, you good?” He just groans. Classic Tortona moment, right? After that, I decide to hit up the park, Parco della Rocca. I need some fresh air. I’m walking, enjoying the vibe, when I spot this street performer. He’s juggling fire! Like, what? I’m thinking, “This guy’s either brave or crazy.” I sit down, watch him, and for a moment, everything’s perfect. But then, my phone buzzes. Work stuff. Ugh. I’m in the middle of Tortona’s beauty, and I gotta deal with emails. I’m like, “Can’t a guy catch a break?” I reply, but my mind’s still on that fire juggler. Later, I’m back on the streets, and I decide to grab some gelato. You can’t go wrong with gelato in Tortona, right? I hit up this little shop on Via San Martino. The owner’s this old dude who’s been making gelato since forever. I order pistachio, and he gives me a wink. “Best in town,” he says. I take a bite, and man, he’s not lying. It’s like heaven in a cone. But then, I see this group of kids playing soccer in the square. They’re having a blast, and I’m like, “I wanna join!” So, I kick the ball around with them for a bit. I’m not even that good, but who cares? We’re laughing, and it feels good to be a kid again. As the sun sets, I’m walking back home, and I can’t help but think about the day. Tortona’s got this energy, you know? It’s chaotic, but it’s home. I’m exhausted, but happy. I’ve seen the best and worst of people today, and it’s all part of the ride. So yeah, that was my day in Tortona. Full of spills, thrills, and a whole lotta feels. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
