Man, what a day in Trani! Seriously, I’m still buzzing from it. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blasting through my window. I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit the streets. I’m strolling down Via Mario Pagano, feeling all artsy. Trani’s got this vibe, ya know? The old buildings, the sea breeze, and the smell of fresh focaccia wafting through the air. I’m thinking, “Life’s good.” But then, BAM! I trip over a cobblestone. Classic me. I’m like, “Great start, genius.” I shake it off and head to the harbor. The water’s sparkling, and I see the Castello Svevo in the distance. It’s this massive castle, super old, built in the 12th century or something. I’m all about history, so I’m geeking out. But then, I see a bunch of tourists taking selfies. Ugh, I can’t. Like, do you really need 50 pics of you in front of a castle? Anyway, I grab a gelato from this little shop on Via Cavour. Best decision ever. I go for pistachio, obvi. It’s creamy, it’s dreamy, and I’m in heaven. But then, I see this kid drop his cone. My heart breaks. I’m like, “Dude, I feel ya.” So, I give him half of mine. I’m a hero, right? Then, I decide to check out the Cathedral of San Nicola Pellegrino. It’s stunning! The façade is all white stone, and the details are insane. I’m standing there, just soaking it all in. But then, this guy starts yelling in Italian. I have no clue what he’s saying, but he’s super animated. I’m thinking, “Is he mad? Or just passionate?” Either way, it’s entertaining. After that, I wander down to the beach. The sand’s warm, and I plop down. I’m just chilling, listening to the waves. But then, I see this group of locals playing beach volleyball. They’re intense! I’m like, “I could totally join.” Spoiler: I couldn’t. I’m more of a “watch and eat snacks” kinda person. Suddenly, I get a text from my buddy. He’s like, “Let’s meet at the piazza.” I’m thinking, “Sure, why not?” So, I head over to Piazza della Repubblica. It’s buzzing with life. Street performers, people chatting, and the smell of pizza everywhere. I’m in my element. But then, I see this guy trying to juggle. He drops everything. I can’t help but laugh. I mean, come on! How do you mess that up? But he’s cool about it, picks up his stuff, and keeps going. Respect, man. I finally meet up with my buddy, and we grab some pizza. It’s legit the best pizza I’ve ever had. We’re sitting there, stuffing our faces, and I’m like, “This is what life’s about.” But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, really? I’m in Trani, and it’s raining? We dash for cover under this awning on Via Ognissanti. I’m soaked, but I’m laughing. My buddy’s like, “This is a disaster!” I’m like, “Nah, it’s an adventure!” We end up chatting with this old man who’s been living in Trani forever. He tells us stories about the city, the history, and how it’s changed. I’m hanging on every word. Finally, the rain stops, and we head back to the harbor. The sunset is insane. The sky’s all pink and orange, reflecting on the water. I’m standing there, feeling all the feels. Trani, you’ve got my heart. As the day wraps up, I’m exhausted but happy. I’ve laughed, I’ve eaten, I’ve made a kid’s day, and I’ve soaked in the beauty of this place. Trani, you’re wild, unpredictable, and I love it. Can’t wait for tomorrow!
