Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, Vallo-della-Lucania really knows how to throw a curveball. I woke up this mornin’ thinkin’ it’d be just another chill day at the bar, you know? But nah, life had other plans. So, I’m at my usual spot, Bar Centrale on Via Roma, right? The sun’s shinin’, birds are chirpin’, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be lit!” But then, boom! My boss calls me. “Hey, you’re on solo today.” Great. Just great. I’m thinkin’, “What am I, a superhero?” First customer rolls in. This dude, Marco, he’s a regular. Always orders a Negroni. But today? He’s all moody. I’m like, “What’s up, man?” Turns out, he just got dumped. Oof. I mean, I get it. Breakups suck. So, I pour him a double. He downs it like it’s water. I’m like, “Whoa, slow down, buddy!” But he just stares into his glass like it holds the secrets of the universe. Then, outta nowhere, a group of tourists strolls in. They’re loud, obnoxious, and totally lost. They start askin’ me about the best places to eat. I’m like, “Dude, you’re in Vallo-della-Lucania! Just walk down Corso Umberto I, you’ll find a million spots!” But they just keep talkin’ over me. Ugh! I’m tryin’ to serve drinks, not give a tour! And then, the power goes out. Just like that. I’m standin’ there in the dark, thinkin’, “Great, now I’m a bartender in a horror movie.” But then, I hear laughter. It’s the tourists! They whip out their phones, turn on the flashlights, and start a mini dance party. I can’t help but laugh. It’s ridiculous! After the lights come back, I’m feelin’ a bit better. I pour some shots for the tourists. They’re lovin’ it! I’m thinkin’, “Maybe this day ain’t so bad.” But then, my ex walks in. Perfect timing, right? She’s with some dude, and I’m like, “Oh great, just what I needed.” My heart sinks. I try to act cool, but inside? Total chaos. I serve ‘em drinks, but I can’t help but eavesdrop. They’re talkin’ about some fancy restaurant on Via San Giovanni. I’m like, “Really? You’re gonna go there? You used to hate that place!” But whatever. I’m not bitter. Nope. Not at all. Then, the night takes a wild turn. A local band shows up. They’re playin’ right outside on the street. It’s a vibe! I’m pourin’ drinks, and people are dancin’. I’m dancin’ too! I mean, who can resist a good tarantella? But then, I see Marco again. He’s back, and he’s brought his friends. They’re all pumped, and I’m like, “Dude, you good?” He’s grinnin’ ear to ear. Apparently, he met someone new! I’m like, “What? Just like that?” But hey, love works in mysterious ways, right? As the night rolls on, I’m feelin’ all sorts of emotions. Happy, sad, confused. Vallo-della-Lucania is wild, man. One minute you’re pourin’ drinks, the next you’re in a dance-off with tourists. Finally, I close up shop. I’m exhausted but happy. I walk home down Via Giuseppe Mazzini, the moonlight bouncin’ off the cobblestones. I think about how crazy today was. I mean, who knew a day in Vallo could be so intense? So yeah, that was my day. Just another rollercoaster in this beautiful little town. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
